So, yesterday afternoon I was startled yet again by the sound of the chainsaw...and lo and behold, look out the front door to see the neighbors across the street having their lovely 40 foot tall white pine removed. They are on a cul-de-sac in the next town over, so my home faces the end of their house, and now I have a perfect view of the side of their giant brick home that looks like an apartment building. Blech
I know it's none of my business, and we even have a few trees that need to be removed--one is unhealthy and one is just a junky honey locust that the neighbor lets vines grow in, but it still bugs me when a perfectly good tree bites the dust. It was the only evergreen in the whole neighborhood, and now it's gone.
Oh well, right now I'm listening to them grind the stump out. Gone is gone, I guess.
