My washing machine died tonight. I had a top loader, adn I was hoping that it would make it until my last child pl'd.

I think I want to buy a front loader, even though the top loaders seem to have better results washing diapers.

Any recommendations? tips???

I have a Kenmore HE3 and although I love it for everything else, I'm actually looking for a cheap/free small top loader for diapers only. I just find I cannot get the rinse but I'm not willing ot get rid of my front loader. I'm afraid if I put any less soap, nothing will get clean and and I"m sick of rinsing all day to get all the soap out.

(By the way, if anyone has any suggestions about what I might be doing wrong, please feel free to let me know! I use a mixture of pockets with jamtots inserts and ME Sandys with Allens soap).

I've talked with service repair men (my washer & dryer have been repaired for the last time), the service repair men state that Whirlpool has the absolute lowest insidence of needing repair, they rarely see them needing repair.

While I love some of the new Kenmore washers. I'm leaning toward a Whirlpool when my Maytag (top of the line no less) dies for good, like I said the last repair was the last one -- I told my dh next time it goes, it's going out the door!!!

Maybe by then Whirlpool will have something cool like the Kenmore Oasis (I think that is the one I think is so cool and dreamy).

Where is your washing machine located? If it's near a living area (i.e. on the main floor), you may want to consider one with a direct drive system rather than a belt drive as they are MUCH quieter. Samsung, LG and Maytag all have models with direct drive and there are likely others as well. Unfortunately the Whirlpool Duet (and thus the sister Kenmore HE's) don't come with direct drive at this time. Oh, and just FYI, the current Maytag Neptunes are made by Samsung.
