I can understand that but......

Safe Birth Control Pills

Read the info that comes with them
They are far from "safe"
I'd rather take my chances with getting pg than develop brain cancer
I don't think that all birth control is the safest thing. I think women should be told of hte complications involved with it. I can not take hormonal BC at all. That said, to say that condoms offer no protection against STD's is not only ludicrous it's dangerous.
I can agree with you there Pynki my dear

I bote for the govt staying the heck out of teaching bc all togethter

Honeslty I dont want any govt good or bad teaching me or my kids about sex or sex related topics
Of course you agree with me JL, it's because I'm so sensible. Thusly I should be made a moderator. Everyone would say... Ah yes... That Pynki, she's so sensible. I can't argue with her on that one... And the board would spin happily to sunshine and rainbow land. :giggle Or something like that.
Humm...FDA is corrupt. Yup, that'snot cool. But they've been doing it for years. They have a price. You can get what you want passed. How do you think Xanax made it the market?

To sum up: after eight weeks, the placebo patients were doing about as well as those on Xanax. Those on Xanax got the mule kick of heavy withdrawal symptoms once the drug was stopped.

Pynki my dear you are sensible

I do HEART you

The FDA needs to go.
They are crap and are too easily bribed
So are pharma companies

But PYNKI, I am in the running for mod too, or maybe its my own wishful thinking *insert never in a million years smilie*
Danelle I do believe you have graduated to Invisible Poster status!
What? I'm not Danielle, but I totally don't get what your saying...

Ditto that. As a librarian, I can no longer conscionably direct users to government Web sites as legitimiate resources, after the purging of the Education Department site of all research that disproved the Administration's claims about NCLB, after information about gays was purged from HHS sites, after disproven research about links between breast cancer and abortion was posted, after scientists were pressured to change and hide research findings.
This isn't really about birth control per se, it's about this administration deliberately putting out false information, and deliberately withholding real, useful information. Particularly about women and reproductive health.
Exactly Sunshine. Thank you for putting so succintly what was bothering me.
Did I derail this thread

If I did sorry, sensible Pynki

I think this line of thinking tends to underestimate the health risks that one accepts by becoming pregnant. Sure, birth control has risks, but so does pregnancy/childbirth or pregnancy/abortion... no reason for governmental sites to obfuscate the comparative risks by pretending that women who are afraid to use artificial bc will abstain altogether.

Which is, I think, exactly what's going on.

Well, bought the issue intending to read the article, when I looked at the article I changed my mind.

Can't that my twin sister and our girl friend/s believes in what these magazines say. These are ones that want a c-section birth or unatural vaginal birth.

Thank you.

Recently the FDA disclosed that the excessive levels of estrogen delivered by the birth control patch Ortho Evra can cause serious injuries and even death to the women who use it. Johnson and Johnson is the parent company of the manufacturer of the Ortho Evra patch. http://www.orthoevra-legal-center.com/
I haven't been able to research into this site. But thought it might be valid to the issue at hand nonetheless.

The sympto-thermal method has a better pearl index than the pill. For the love of life, I don't understand why it's not being more promoted and why professionals have no clue. I fear it's because it's free!

I think you hit the nail on the head with that one, huggerwocky.

What I don't "get" is why big pHARMa isn't trying to cash in on NFP somehow. Maybe convince women that NFP "works" but only if you get monthly u/s to detect ovulation and/or pee on a stick daily to test hormone levels. How about a computerized thermometer that does the charting for you?
