My ds is 11 months now, actually 11 1/2 months to be exact. He still does not eat very much solid food, but some days are better than others. He eats meals with us and sits at the table. I'll just give him little pieces of whatever we're eating. Sometimes he will surprise me and eat a decent amount, but usually most of it just ends up on the floor. I'm not really worried, but I guess I just want to know that's he's not the only baby like this! I figure all I can really do is just keep offering and it will work itself out, right??

My ds has issues with texture, so whatever I feed him has to be smooth. But he's VERY strong headed-when he doesn't want to eat, he won't. But he's getting enough I guess because he's gaining weight like a champ, so I'm not worried. He'll do it in his own time (heck-he won't even put anything in his mouth other than his fingers).

My dd didn't eat more than a taste or two until 13 months. Now at 19 months she eats more, but still WAY less than typical kids her age. she nurses tons and is super healthy. Just got over her FIRST fever. Has had two very minor colds in her whole life.

Our ds didn't put a piece of solid food on his lips AT all until 12 months and really didn't start eating regulary probably until close to 16 months. But he was healthy and growing and thriving and alert and active and nursing... so no worries. Now at 20 months he is JUST starting to really eat more than once a day. In general, we've come to realize he's just not that big of a eater (like his daddy). Not picky, just not often hungry. But he tells me when he's hungry and we go from there.

Just offer what you can and follow your baby's lead. They all eat when they are ready!
