Just wondering if there are any adoptive mamas (especially adoptive lesbian mamas) out there that would like to start an ADOPTION AP group? I've been to too many AP mom groups where the main focus is breastfeeding and birth stories. Personally, I can't relate and was hoping to find a different "tribe" to hang with. :

You might consider posting on the list (or putting a notice in the newsletter) of the Mothers Support Network (www.motherssupportnetwork.org). It sounds like maybe you've been to their new mom's meetings, but there is a broader network of moms who belong to the group who might be seeking out others.

I know a couple in Davis, and can pass on your contact info next time I see them if you PM me.

Kaydee, thanks for the info., but I've actually contacted Barbara at MSN about an adoptive mom support group. While she thought it was a great idea, I still don't see anything on their website that supports adoptive parents. I was there once and was made to feel like an outcast.

ocelotmom, do your friends ever come to Sac? Do you think they would be open to park/playdates during the day?

No idea how often they get to Sac, but I think they'd be interested. Their older daughter is in school, so they may be time-limited on weekdays.

If you PM me your email, I'll pass it on to them. I feel like I'm harassing you for your info or something, but I feel more uncomfortable about just giving out their email, and they aren't members here
