The title says it all. I need one really good book to help me convince someone that socialization isn't a concern for homeschoolers. This is a very stubborn person who thinks that kids need to be in school because they need to learn how to deal with the bullies, mean kids, being bored, ect. Please help! Thanks!

I was going to suggest the same book! Excellent!

Aside from that, the "Homeschooling Book of Answers" (Linda Dobson) provides tons of testimonial evidence from lots of difference homeschooling families/backgrounds/perspectives, some from those who were/are involved in ps--very powerful. I suppose because its the first homeschooling book I read, it still speaks volumes to me and I recommend it a lot. I believe there is entire chapter devoted to this subject... I found both of the books at my local library along with many others.

Good luck!

It's not a homeschooling book per se (although the author is pro-homeschooling) but Hold On to Your Kids : Why Parents Need to Matter More Than Peers by GORDON NEUFELD, GABOR MD MATE
really changed the way I looked at the whole question of socialization.

You can read more about the book here

Thanks for all the help! It is my DH but I was hoping he wouldn't see the post so I can talk to him about it before he really gets to think so much. He can be very stubborn!
