Is anyone familiar with cruise (ocean activities)? I'm trying to get an idea of safe sand/shore excursions during pregnancy. I called the cruise lines and was very disappointed with their answer. They told me that as long as there is no warning under the activity pregnancy is fine. They told me they didn't have any of the phone numbers to the sand/shore excursion places. None of the activities listed pregnancy as a restriction, and I find it hard to believe that scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. would be safe during pregnancy. What about parasailing? Does that go fast or is it just a slow moving tour while flying in the skies? I did find the dolphin swim websites and found out that the shallow water dolphin encounters are safe. What about Kayaking?

Certified Scuba Diver here and you do not dive while preggo! I refused to get preggo until after our honeymoon (taken a few months after the ceremony) for this very reason.

I would think snorkeling would be okay bc you are not dealing with compressed air. You may not want to dive as deep as you otherwise might. You can snorkel just at the top of the water and be just fine but you may fine it boring if there is not much activity. I enjoyed (not preggo at time though) doing a few deep dives with my snorkel gear when I went on my 1st and only cruise (so far).

I probably would not recommend parasailing but I guess it depends on the harness. I know some places have like the skydiving harness around your legs instead of something more like a seat. You could try to find a few other places that are not cruise related and see what they say.

Why not kayak? With both of my boys pregnancies I was never restricted from an activity unless I thought it was unsafe or it was something like scuba diving or sky diving. Kayaking should be fine if you are on pretty calm water plus there are kayaks meant for more than 1 person. Would the kayak be a sit on top or one with a spray skirt? I would think the sit on top might be more comfortable since you would have a little more room to more around (not sure how far along you will be at the time of the cruise).

GL and have fun! Would love to see pics!!!
