I have one. I had a prenatal scheduled on Wednesday of this week. On Tuesday I was thinking I could not remember for the life of me what time my appointment was so I phoned and left a message to please call me with my appointment time. At the time I was also thinking that I had to call my friend Pam about something but that it was too early in the morning to call her. So later in the day when I did phone Pam, she asked me if I had received a call from my doctor and I said yes, why and how did she know? Well, apparently when I left the message, I left Pam's phone number instead of my own!!!!! How embarassing <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment">

Not really... I did have to call the midwives to find out what time my last appointment was for too....<br><br>
And well yesterday I had set up a time to pick up a partylite order from a woman on a local parenting site... I ended up having to take dd to the doc and then to get some antibiotics for a lung infection... I still had way more than enough time to pick it up... But I had TOTALLY forgotten. Didn't even cross my mind until I came home last night and opened up my email. She was cool about it but I was mad at myself!

My favorite one was my first that I noticed --<br><br>
I'm taking a shower and am ready to get out and then I'm staring at the faucet thing and can't figure out how on earth to turn it off! As if I've not showered in my own house before -- and then I ended up turning it super cold then hot before finally remembering to push it in.<br><br>
I don't think I've beat that one yet -- though I do sew for a living and have made some really dumb mistakes lately that I attribute to pregnancy brain. One was tonight, I send dh to the fabric store because I thought I made some (12!) diaper inserts too small and needed more fabric, turns out I was just folding it the wrong way.

I had to give my phone number for something the other day, and as I started saying it my mind just blanked. I was able to get myself to remember it, but it was a weird feeling for a moment. It is a number I have had for awhile, so I know it well enough.

A week or two ago two friends asked if I wanted to go to the movie with them.<br>
We did and then afterwards went to Starbucks for tea. I put in my order and handed her my debit card. Then I looked in my wallet and said, "Oh, no! I need to go back to the theater, I left my debit card there!"<br>
The woman just handed me my card and receipt back with an odd look on her face.

I was at an ice cream shop with ds last week, and I was paying for our ice cream. I heard the door bell and dashed away to look out the door (ds has been running away from me lately.) But this time he was sitting peacefully in the window with some other kids eating his ice cream, and I looked pretty silly.

Now that I think about it, I was a little disoriented in the shower last time. I made some adjustment and just really sharply adjusted the temp (too hot or too cold, I can't remember now) and given what I wanted to do--maybe adjust the shower head & angle of the spray?--it was an odd thing to have adjusted. But that could have been a function of me not showering very much, lately. I really am unfamiliar with my shower, oddly enough.<br><br>
I have done okay so far. Last pregnancy I made a habit of leaving my wallet all over town (most often in grocery stores, or grocery carts.) We would get calls, if I didn't realize it first and start calling the places I'd been. My husband was fit to be tied, but amazingly, nothing was ever missing or stolen.<br><br>
I did notice that I had a horrible time remembering that we were going out to dinner on Wednesday. I mean, I remembered (it was a family function at my daughter's preschool) that we were going out, and then a bit later I was getting meat out of the freezer to thaw for dinner. I remembered the party again, and then a little later was busy planning when I'd have to start prepping vegetables to get the food ready in time for dinner. It was weird. Thank goodness my husband called later in the day to make plans for how/when to meet up, because I just wasn't putting 2 & 2 together!

Wait I remember! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
I was going for my ultrasound and the receptionist said the name of the midwife that ordered it... I sat back down and realized that it was the first midwife group I saw and thought I should change it. I never got a chance to talk to her because she was on the phone and we were called in.<br><br>
So I told the tech after the ultrasound and she asked me for the name of my midwife. Well I named off EVERY other midwife in town. I think we have like 6 or 7 different "groups" and just as I was positive I would then say NOPE wrong one. Finally she went and got a list and started reading some off and I remembered the head midwife's name whom I hadn't seen....<br><br>
In the end the midwives never got it anyways and had to get it faxed over and they had apparently called before and asked them to change it to their name as well.... That one was bad.

Okay, this thread reminds me that I'm totally and completely normal!!!!!<br><br>
Let's see in the course of 24 hours I did this:<br>
- Driving about a mile from picking my son up from school & Joie our 2-year-old screams, "MAMA NO BUCKLE ME!!!!!" Here I wiped her nose, tied her shoe... but never buckled her in!<br>
- Withdrew money from an ATM & then walked away with my money but not my card.<br>
- Lost my broken cell phone that I needed to get a replacement<br><br>
Not to mention that every time I leave the house no matter how much I pause to make sure I remembered everything I needed... I end up driving around the block & returning to grab the thing I forgot!

oh boy, this thread is making me feel better.<br><br>
my worst so far was completely missing a day. the kids had dentist apts on the 9th, i go in on the 10th, completely thinking it was the 9th and act all confused while they try to explain to me that the apt was the 9th. i'm like, i know the apt is the 9th, that's why i'm here! ugh.<br><br>
things in general are just taking me forever to "get" these days. lol i also can't type/spell very well. my fingers just aren't connecting to my brain very well! i'm backspacing at least once or twice a sentence(two for that one). i'm normally a pretty good/fast typer!

Oh, that's me! I'm pretty sure my neighbors think I'm nuts for continually driving to the end of the street and back before I go any where. Sometimes I do it more than once.<br><br>
Then the other day, coming home for the grocery store, I missed a turn to go home. I'm starting to think I shouldn't be driving. There have been quite a few times when I start heading in the wrong direction for no reason and it takes a while to figure out where I am and where I was supposed to be going.

Ugh. Pregnancy brain is killing me. I can't remember most of my issues, though. My most annoying ones are:<br><br>
Right now I can't find my cell phone. No idea where I put it. Since it's our main number, this is not a good thing.<br><br>
I forget appointments ALL the time. Never know what day it is or when I've got things scheduled.<br><br>
Words just don't look right. I have used an onlin dictionary so many times while typing, it's disgusting.<br><br>
but probably the worst. My dd sold Girl Scout cookies. We sold 20 boxes to a friend of mine who lives about 2 hours away. She ordered 5 boxes each of 4 different kinds. I was getting ready to go meet her halfway, so I packed them all up into 2 boxes and had my dh bring them out to the car. I brought them to her, collected the money, and went home. Later that night, she called and said that I'd given her an entire case of Thin Mints (12 boxes) and didn't give her any of the Shortbreads she ordered. I couldn't believe it. I searched through where I had the cookies stored looking for that case that I had packed up with 5 of her Thin Mints and 5 Shortbread. I knew I had separated them out. I was thinking she was crazy and I had to have given them to her. I separated out the rest of the cookies for others that had ordered, and sure enough I was short 7 mints and had 5 extra Shortbread. I still don't know what I was doing when I thought I was separating them out. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Oh my, I have baby brain so bad. I just realized I left my cell phone sitting on the dinner table at a wedding reception I was at tonight. Last week I left for school and made it to my car before I realized I was wearing my purple puffy slippers. I notice the duh-dopey feeling a lot more with this pregnancy.

I don't have any good ones for this pregnancy, but my first pregnancy I left my wallet on the train. And we were flying back. Good thing we were visiting my parents and they just happened to have my very first driver's license that had expired, or I have no idea how we would have gotten home. The wallet showed up in the mail about 6 weeks later.

<span style="font-family:'Comic Sans MS';"><span style="font-size:medium;"><span>WELL; let's see. First of all; I forget. And I'm not kidding. It took me reading this whole thread to try and jog my memory; and still turned up dry. I had to think about it. Truth is; I'm getting better - or perhaps I've just learned ways to cope (like carrying a small book to "write it down" in); but it was really bad in the beginning. I finally remember one incident.<br><br>
This was back in like month two. I was out with my DP; he was driving and we were on our way home. I've lived in this town longer than him; and did door-to-door work when I first moved here 6 years back; and I know the place very well. He's from where I'm originally from; and that's the next town over...WHY am I rambling?? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> ANYWAYS, I was trying to tell him the shortcut to home; and I accidentally sent us further out than I meant to and we had to backtrack. I got so upset. I could visualize the town in sections; but I couldn't connect the sections in my head.<br><br>
So anyways...I have this rambling problem.... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/ROTFLMAO.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="rotflmao"></span></span></span>

I routinely get disoriented driving and have to really work to remember where my house is.<br><br>
But my favorite is from my last pregnancy. When I went to my first prenatal appointment, my OB was taking my history and he asked, "Any absent-mindedness going on?" Then he glanced over at my clothes folded up neatly on the chair and my shoes underneath it and said, "I'm going to mark 'yes' on that one." I looked over and saw that I had two completely different shoes. Both tennis shoes, but TOTALLY different colors.

I sooo suffer from preggo brain.<br><br>
The other night I seriously forgot how old I was. I just couldn't remember if I was 22 or 23. I had to ask DH. He reminded me that I am 23.<br><br>
I am always forgetting if I washed my hair in the shower. So I think my hair is getting double washed on some days and not at all on other days, LOL.

I have a new one. I just ran a stop sign. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/yikes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="EEK!"> It was in a rural area on a route I hadn't driven very much. There was no "Stop Ahead" sign to give me any warning, and I just didn't see it. Good thing no one was around, except for the old lady on her driveway at the corner who gave me a pretty good stare. That wasn't a fun one.

I'm forgetting everything too. I even forget to look at my agenda so that I'll remember what I'm supposed to do; or I forget to write things in there. After missing a meeting I'd had scheduled for a month, that was in my agenda highlighted in yellow, I've taken to emailing reminders to myself. I'm just warning everyone not to rely on me right now.<br>
My students just laugh. Everything I screw up lately, they blame on the baby.
