Hi all,

Last night the sciatic pain was so bad down my left side I was up all night. Is there anything I can do by way of a yoga pose or stretch. I tried all kinds of pillow configurations and lying on my left/on my right but nothing helped. Any ideas?

Thanks.

The only thing that has ever helped me, is a good chiropractor who knows how to help pregnant women with sciatica. I had it very bad with all pregnancies, and the chiro helped every time.

on my web site, linked in my sig, you'll find an article about it and also one on elimination and also on mommy's tummy. all three are great for just about everything prenatal!

also ask your dr/midwife to check your urine for blood - kidney stones or even small pieces breaking off and travelling (FUN) are common in pregnancy so its always best to rule out other things that can mimic it...

I am only suggesting as I suffered from siatic pain for two years that stumped my chiro...before finally I got a CAT scan - back fine, kidney stones and a simple kidney cyst were causing the pain down the back leg feeling.

Chiropractic was what helped me when I had sciatic pain in my last pregnancy. It made a HUGE difference. Once I was on the mend, I incorporated a little more stretching/walking into my routine.

In the minority here, but chiro didn't help my sciatic pain. Stretching and exercise did, though. Don't know what partic. moves b/c it cleared up after I joined a strollerfit class.
