My dh is taking a job in Southport starting in June so we will be moving to the area very soon!

I grew up in Roxboro, NC so it's great to be moving back to NC! However I don't know much about Southport. My impression is I'll want to go to Wilmington for lots of things. If there are any mamas down there- give me the dirt! I know Wilmington has LLL, how about Brunswick County? A FNL group? Co-ops, health food stores, "crunchy places", homeschooling groups, cool preschools, (contradiction, I know- we're keeping our options open ), AP-friendly playgroups?? Anything! Oh, and any awesome peds would be great, too!

I have a friend who just moved to Wilmington and they do have a LLL there but that's about all I know.. I recommend going to the LLL website and searching.. Also try www.wilmingtonmommies.com She just joined that and has made a ton of new friends!

I just moved to Leland, in between Southport and Wilmington. I think Southport is great, I like this part of the country. We came from Bozeman, MT, so it's quite a culture shock.

We made it. Still unpacking, but I think I'm ready to start getting into stuff. We're renting a place on Oak Island at least until our old house sells, which will hopefully be in the next couple months. One can hope!

I bookmarked the Wilmington Mommies page, I'll have to check them out. I'm wondering if there's anything in the county. I'll already be going to Wilmington for LLL, at least for a little while, so if there's not something here, we might have to change that. Don't want to drive to Wilmington for everything.

If anyone wants to come play with us at the beach, let me know. We're about a 15-20minute walk from the ocean or a very short drive!

Hey Kelly! I was browsing the NC forum and found your post! We moved back to NC last October and we are getting ready to build a new house here. We are in the Triad area of NC though so about 4 hours from you. Oak Island/ Southport are great areas! I hope you and your family are doing well!
