<p>I am really interested in making my own herbal remedies (oils, tinctures, salves, etc.)  So far have made a few infused oils with directions from the web.  Looking for a book with directions but more important herbs and their medicinal uses.  Any recs?</p>

<p>I feel that anything by Matthew Wood is worth it's weight in gold.  I love how he writes about the plants with such reverence.  I have two copies of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325&tag=motheringhud-20&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FBook-Herbal-Wisdom-Plants-Medicines%2Fdp%2F1556432321%2Fref%3Dsr_1_1%3Fs%3Dbooks%26ie%3DUTF8%26qid%3D1290634735%26sr%3D1-1" rel="norewrite" target="_blank">The Book of Herbal Wisdom</a>  because I kept carrying it back and forth from my office.</p>

<p>I also tend to like Rosemary Gladstar for herbs, but one of my favorite books that is all dogeared and loved to death is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325&tag=motheringhud-20&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FHerbal-Medicine-Heart-Earth%2Fdp%2F1881517020" rel="norewrite" target="_blank">Herbal Medicine from the Heart of the Earth</a>.  Love it.</p>
