Hi there-
Just moved to Goldendale, WA from PDX. Got to say, having trouble finding my nitch out here. My son is 20m. I would love to start a playgroup or something. I got spoiled out in PDX with all my attachment parenting playgroups.

Thanks-
I used to live in Goldendale, about five years ago. We're up in Yakima now. What a huge culture shock you must be feeling, going from PDX to Goldendale! I had a rough time going from Yakima to Goldendale, and the PDX area is much bigger than Yak is.

Unfortunately I don't have much good advice for you. I lived there for 9 months and never did find a niche. It's a very quiet little small town.

Is the Dine and Dash Cafe still over there on Main? I used to take walks up there to get out of the house. We {had the two boys at the time, 2 1/2 and newborn} also used to walk up to DeHarts Red Apple and to the Sentry, to chat with the cashiers. There is also a small park just a bit off of Broadway, but I cannot for the life of me remember what street you turn off to get to it. It was very close to our house, just up the corner IIRC. We lived in the blue and white house {well, it was blue and white five years ago} next to the square cement apartment building.

You could try posting a note at DeHarts and at the Sentry advertising for a playgroup and see who shows up

Thanks-
I have been to all the places you have mentioned, though the dine and dash isn't there anymore. Yep it is a bit of a culture shock, but I wanted small town life, and now I got it.:

I just met someone of the boards from The Dalles so at least there is one person with in 40 miles. So I will be grateful for that. I haven't made it to Yakima yet.

Thanks for your ideas-
