Any one else measuring large to dates?-twins

I saw my midwife yesterday (11 weeks 5 days) no problem hearing the heart beat but my fundal height is really high is comparison to where is was only a week ago( about 1 finger below my belly button this week just out of my pelvis the week before). Just wondering how everyone else was measuring?
I know the day we conceived so my due date is pretty set. We are waiting to see how it goes before I go in for an unnecessary ultrasound. We had thought maybe twins earlier on because I had been so sick(and had never been before in 4 other pregnancies) and my pregnancy test was so positive after only 1 week post ovularion.

Anyone else think they might be carrying twins?

DDC crashing, but the answer is ME Me ME! LOL I am measuring larger - which I never have before - so this is very odd for me.....I usually measure a minimum of 2 behind but now I'm 2 ahead.....

I have an U/S on May 4th to check for placental placement (history of low-lying) so we'll know for sure then...........

Hugs! You are in the same boat I am!
A family with three babes staring the jump to FIVE in the face! LOL

I actually feel really weird even contemplating it might be twins. I am an apprentice midwife and EVERY single woman right about this time especially if it isn't her 1st pregnancy thinks she is having twins. SO I feel really silly! I have never thought I was before. That is why I can talk to all of you about it and no one in my real life. Got to love MDC

I totally hear you. I have a post on the Parenting Multiples where the doc said because I'm not feeling movement at 17wks its not twins, yet I'm measuring 19. So you're definately measuring larger than I am!
Likely more chance for you than me! LOL I have conceived twins once before but lost one very early on, so its even more surreal to think I'd have conceived AGAIN!

I went to the midwife on Tuesday and was measuring at 19 1/2 weeks. I was only 14 1/2 weeks then. There is only one baby in there! It is likely that your fundus is high because you have had three babies already. It doesn't make sense that your fundal height was barely out of your pelvis last week and is now almost to your belly button. That sounds like maybe someone missed how high it really was last week. Even with twins growth that rapid seems unlikely. I'm not saying that it can't be twins but it isn't uncommon for multiparas to have high fundal heights at this stage in pregnancy. Fundal heights correspond better to the number of weeks pregnant after the 20th week.
I'm measuring 20 wks and I'm only 14. Only one baby but 5th pregnancy

I hear you on that one! It's different when it's your own baby in your own body. I'm a doula and CBE and even though I *know* things in my brain, I'm having a hard time applying and internalizing them for myself. It's like I've "unlearned" everything when it comes to my own pregnancy. LOL
I don't know why that is, but it's nice to just be around a variety of moms in my same boat who get me.

At the time of my BFP, I was thinking that it was twins for me, but I've decided that it's not, now.
My MW was feeling the size of my uterus today and said that it "felt" big, but I was measuring right on. We'll have an u/s in about 5 weeks so we'll know for sure then, but I really truly think that it's just one baby cooking in there.

(Oh and just something funny... I was wearing my "fat pants" today and she made the comment about how my pants are still fitting well. LOL. I had to confess that they weren't my normal pants.

My LAST pregnancy was twins and although I don't FEEL like it's twins I'm in the same boat, I'm measureing about 16cm and my fundus is 2 fingers below my belly button. It has me wondering for sure. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and I thought I saw something, but the tech told me it was the yoke sac. Looked to me like it was a twin with a membrane between the two of them! YIKES! I'm going to see how it goes and if I continue to stay so far ahead I might get an ultrasound. So far in my day's research, i've seen both sides, measuring ahead and twins, and measuring ahead singleton. Maybe I'm just so stretched that I'm inflating quickly LOL!
When do most people start getting measured? I had my 3rd appt. on Friday (14w5d) and all he did was check the heartbeat with the doppler. Should he be measuring me at this time? This is my first baby (3rd pregnancy) and my next appt. is the first week of May, so maybe he'll do it then?
