Hello! We just moved here from Chicago and I want to start taking prenatal yoga. I found a class offered at Thrive Yoga on Rockville Pike, starting at the end of April. It is taught by Susan Bowen. Has anyone taken this class or any other class with Susan Bowen? If so, what did you think of it?

Thanks!

Hi there-
Congrats on the move. I too just moved from Los Angeles. Here is my take on Thrive Prenatal:
The studio itself is gorgeous- stone floors, waterfalls, etc. Very peaceful and nice. I find the prices reasonable.
The teacher (Susan) is mediocre in my opinion. Please note, however, I consider myself a "yoga snob" so this is coming from someone who is very particular! She does an adequate job but I would love for her to make more adjustments on people (she basically does the class with you and I feel like she forgets she is "teaching" and not just practicing). I find her energy a little flat as well.
With that being said, however, I would still recommend the class b/c it is a nice workout and stretch. There is another teacher on Wednesday nights but I haven't tried her yet.
If you have any questions feel free to email.

hello! thank you so much for your reply. this is just the type of info i was looking for. i've taken quite a lot of yoga too and am picky about teachers
i think i'll go this monday and give it a try, then can decide whether to do the full session or not. thank you again, maybe i will run into you there sometime. if you do find a prenatal class that you like, please post again here, i would love to know about it! Someone recommended Willow Street Yoga in Silver Spring. They are offering a free week of classes at the end of April so I think I am going to check those out too. Thanks again, take care!
