Hi All,

I'm in my last trimester of pregnancy with my first baby. I'm at 34 weeks and a few days. For the past couple of weeks I've been feeling more and more tired, and today I just feel like I'm dragging myself around. I don't know what the deal is - is it just the pregnancy? Is this normal for the last leg of pregnancy? At my prenatal checkups everything is fine with my health and the midwives seem very pleased with both the health of me and the baby. I did the hemoglobin test and I'm at the "lower end of normal". My blood pressure is also at the "lower end of normal". Generally I feel like I have had an easy pregnancy and I feel good, I just find it annoying that it's such a chore to go out and walk around because of this fatigue.

I had friends and relatives tell me that when I hit trimester 3 I'd feel pretty tired, but I didn't know I'd feel THIS tired! I think part of it is caused by the difficulty breathing sometimes, I guess because my lungs and other internal organs are being squished by my little babe.

Anybody want to commiserate with me? I'd love to hear some "I'm so tired too" or "I was so tired when I was pregnant" stories!

I've been very tired lately too! I'm just 30 weeks (baby #4). I think part of it, in my case, is being pregnant. The other part is running after two kids and taking care of a baby
But, yes, very tired. In fact, I could take a nap right now! lol!

I feel the same way, although I am only about 28 wks along. With this second pregnancy, all of my aches and pains started in the first tri and they have only continued to magnify as the pregnancy progresses and I get bigger (I am a LOT bigger this time around). I walk around like an old lady and just can't seem to get comfortable or get any restful sleep.

I can't remember how I felt with dd at that point (I'm not quite 28 wks now). I'm already feeling like my stamina just isn't there anymore.
The excitement kind of helped me keep going though!

If you can at all get a nap everyday and rest as often as you can. Ask your mw about your diet and see if there is anything you can add in for more energy.

36 weeks today and have been very very tired, I don't know how mamas with other children do it! by the end of each work week, I've been completely toast, and totally teary, so I've negotiated to reduce my work week. not as bad when I'm at home, and can rest, hydrate, nosh on snacks on my own schedule.

take good care, rest and keep your fluids up.

I've been tired this whole darn pregnancy! I'm only 23 weeks. Midwife says i'm fine and the problem might be pregnancy combined with three other kids. She just might have a point there!

Anyway, my bed is my best friend. I just love it. There is nothing like the feeling of crawling into it! Bliss!

After reading about you pregnant mamas chasing after your kids, I feel like a wimp!
I don't know how you do it! Thanks to amarasmom for suggesting I check with the mw to see if there's any foods I can eat to improve energy levels. I'll do so next week, at the next appointment. I'm so glad to know that this is a normal part of pregnancy, and it's not just me.

That's great that we share the same edd!
Do you post on the aug 2005 edd folder? I've been lazy about checking it, but I should since ppl will be having their babies in about 2 months! Yikes!

I need the sleepy smilie too! I just DRAGGGGG through the day.

i'm almost 34 weeks, and feeling the same way! this whole pg, i've been SO tired...lucky though as that's been really my only discomfort. but it's been really hard taking care of my 2 year old while i'm this exhausted. all i crave all day is sleep! (although i'm sleeping horribly too lately...which doesn't help!)

my midwife has been checking my iron levels, and they are fine, so i guess it's just a combination of the last leg of pg, with a toddler. no advice, but i feel your pain!

I guess we're all in the same boat - I'm 34/35 weeks at the moment and have got more and more tired dh took day off work yesterday and I went to bed for an extra two hours! Looking after a toddler is no fun when all you want to do is snuggle up on the sofa and snooze! So we're going off to the park this afternoon - it kills me but I have to look after dd's needs as well, I can't expect her to stay with me vegging out all the time, we live in a small flat and she has loads of energy - not looking forward to small space and two energetic children here have to look for something else! DH of course is working late tonight so no rest for me! I had loads of energy beforehand though and wonder if I over did things earlier on and am now suffering from the consequences!
And like a previous poster I am really not sleeping well when I eventually get to bed most nights lie awake for at least a couple of hours listening to dh and dd sleeping next to me - the counting sheep thing just doesn't work! It'll soon be over and then we just have to wake up to nurse the little one next - who said it's an easy life?

I'm 35 weeks and am so, so tired all the time. Most days I feel like I could sleep the whole day away. I am so ready for this pregnancy bit to be over!

Count me in to the tired club!!! Although it just seemed to have really hit....(31 weeks...) Also...this New England HEAT isn't helping either. I did some errands and now I'm in the A/C and I'm going to take a nap before DH comes home. I don't have other kids right now...so I real feel for you mamas!!!

me too! 32 weeks preg. and this past week feeling wiped. I work 12 hr. nights on the wknd. , and it takes me until about Thurs. to feel half-way again. my heart goes out to the pregnant mammas who have a young toddler. our dd is 3 and she has mostly been a real angel to me. I'm also taking care of my own sick mother - and that is emotionally draining. but, we're getting care for her and we're getting closer to the due date! so exciting to think of meeting this new little person!

good luck to all of you, and thanks for letting us share/vent a bit!
