I'm looking for people who have experience with both to compare them for me.

I made my own Maya wrap, and although I love it, it is a little awkward sometimes.. Baby is in the kangaroo position right now and I feel like the 'grade' of the fabric in front is too steep, either he can't see out or if I put his arm out in front, I'm afraid it will cut off the circulation. (I hope this is making sense). If I loosen the front a little I am too afraid of him falling out. Maybe I need to tighten the middle a bit? Also, I can't seem to get the fabric spread out enough on my shoulder ('shoulder cap') to make it comfortable. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Anyway, I've been eyeing a Didymos. In fact, the more proper word would be 'coveting'. But they are not cheap and we are VERY broke.

For anyone who has both of these, how do they compare? Which one do *you* like better? Is the Didymos worth the $$? I made my own Maya wrap for just $25.

There are a ton of versions of the didymos out there. I have 3 maya wraps and a didymos and then home made and WAHM versions of both. There a lot of long wrap slings out there, the Moby Wrap is only $30 and while it's not as gorgeous as the didy, it's pretty rad. Plus you can get the white and dye it yourself. Heck, i fyou showed up to playgrou one week we might have another tiedye party. There is the Ultimate Baby Wrap for $50 and the EllaRoo for $80 and there's the Simply Attachedfleece wrap sling for $40. I have a lot to say but am nak-ing a fussy baby. I will bbl.
Waving! I have both!

I used didymos iwth my first....then when she got heavy and was only carrying her in the hip position had too much material left over...the maya was handy for on the go when she was in stroller and wanted to be carried on the hip I could get the maya wrap and easily slip her in.

For my ds who is no 8 months...used didymos for the first few months... cradle, cross carry etc. Now he wants to see everything so now is again in hip position. So I go to the maya wrap.

I do prefer the didymos when we go on long outings as his weight is evenly distributed on both shoulder and back... and he can sleep on me and I dont get sore. The Maya I get sore after long period and hard to have on hip when hiking etc.

I still want to figure out the backpack carry position (didnt figure it out with my first one). APparently I was doing it right just got to get the hang of it.

Some people complain about Didymos as there are many ways to wrap around you but u have to find what works best for you.

If you are planning another child in near future... then I say its worth the money. If not...then stay with the maya.

Its really good for the first 6 months for all the position...then after that it varies.

Hope that helps.

pm me if you have more questions
