Well, as of yesterday around 2:30 PM (and ever since), I've been having very uncomfortable menstrual like cramps way down low and some in the back. Today, it's uncomfortable to stand up straight. And forget about trying to bend over! What gives? Anybody else experiencing/have experience with this? Does it go away? I forgot how uncomfortable the last few weeks can be.... But alas, we are on the homestretch! YIPPEE!!

I've experienced cramps like that. They feel like period cramps. I need to lay down when they come around. It sucks. Sometimes they even go down my leg a little too. Like, cramps from my lower belly, back, & legs. I told my mw about them and she said they were actally more effective than BH's! So even though they hurt like heck, I know they're helping me in the long run!

Yep, I've had some cramping like that, some that I have to stop and breathe through. I'm all for them being good and effective.

My MWs seem to want to do something about these types of cramps, though that may be because I'm a few weeks behind you. They had be really increase water intake and also take liquid calcium/magnesium. It at least made me feel better, and led me to conclude that they were coming on because of lack of minerals & water.

I have those occasionally too...

Kat- that's interesting. I'm already taking a food based horse pill sized calcium/mag for my BP so it shouldn't be that. Hmm. I do think these are why I tend to be dialated already by 36 weeks.

I never experienced these with dd, so I'm a little in the dark. My whole lower abdomen just feels weird. No BH, haven't had them in a while. Just feel hot and heavy down below, if that makes any sense.
In one of my midwifery books it says that cramps in the lower belly and lower back can be contractions. So maybe you are warming up! DOn't they give magensium to stop contractions sometime? Or is that blood pressure? my brain is so foggy today

I had some of those lower belly cramps sunday-it gave me immediate flashbacks of very early labor with ds #2.

I just have this *feeling* that he's coming early, I just can't imagine it being THIS early. But between this, the heartburn and the leaking down below
, I just wanna throw in the white towel.
Anybody think I need to do anything about this or just see how it goes for a while? They're not like cyclical cramps like BH's, it's just a steady dull achy feeling. I hate to jump the gun, but I'm scheduled for a repeat c/s on 5/10 so my docs won't let me labor for long (although I plan on taking my sweet time to get to the hospital just so this little guy gets some of the good benefits from being sqeezed a bit! LOL)

What do you other mamas think! I'm 35+2 today....

Have you or your partner ever checked your cervix? I have never dialated at all or even effaced much before labor but this time I've been having consistent timable bh in the evenings and every so often one that I have to breath through and just a week of these have pulled my cervix forward and caused about 75% effacement. I've been having dh check my cervix for a while so he will know what to feel for and he says it is very mushy. This is new for me too I am hoping to go just 2 more weeks as I will be 35wks on easter. Normally I would have written them of as bh but since they are changing my cervix....

Oh and I forgot to add the only place it is painful/uncomfortable is just above pubic bone right where period cramps are and leave me very tender down there. I am also taking extra calc and mag to try and relax things but doesn't seem to be working yet. I may give in and go get checked if they heat up anymore.
I've been having those a lot lately. I have my 36 week appt. on Friday and I'm curious to see if I am dilated at all. The biggest problem 've had is major back pain. Sometimes it's so painful I cannot move.
I had them constantly yesterday. not really painful, but definitely some sit-up-and-take-notice cramps. Hopefully, they are being productive because I'm over 36 weeks and this babe can come any time now.
