Hello,
I've started biking again and it's so much fun! I haven't been on my bike in over 10 years. I've started out slowly---just 20 minutes daily. But I'm ready to start biking for fitness. My DD is 7 and I'm looking forward to biking with her too.

Does anyone else bike for fitness/fun?

We adore biking. We just got a cool seat so my toddler can come along. I took my first ride last weekend, since last summer.

As my sig says... I am training for the Pan Mass Challenge. My goal is to finish the 192 miles (alive), lose weight and raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer research.

In order to get myself there I've been riding 4x a week for a month now. I've been doing 10-12mile rides three evenings a week (about 1 hr) and then longer rides on Saturdays (each weekend ride is longer than the last)

I haven't seen any weight loss as of yet, but I am feeling much stronger on the bike and my breathing isn't as labored.

I love riding and have since I was a kid. It is trickier now, though, because we live in an area with much busier roads than I grew up in.

My training blog is in my profile if you want to check it out!

I love biking- have since i was little.
I have a trailer on the back of my bike which i take both my kids in ( a 3 and 6 year old about 75 lbs total ). I try and ride 3-4x per week. The kids love it and i love it. I've been losing weight too which is a definite plus. I'm thinking about adding a few solo longer rides into my week too. I can't really take the kids that far because there are tons of hills here, and its impossible with the trailer.

Biking is so much fun and great exercise too! We are big time bikers at our house. We ride road and X-country. We already raced the Paris to Ancaster this spring but did the shorter 35km St. George to Ancaster because we did it with the kids. DH and DS(4) rode together with DS on a trail-a-bike. They came in 2nd in their class! DD(11) and I rode on our new tandem and came in 5th in our class! It was so much fun. DD is blind so biking is a great exercise for her. She is really good at it.

DH and I are prepping for our next race in 2 weeks. An X-country 8 hour team event most laps completed wins. I cannot wait it will be awesome! We have a X-country 24 hour team race in June. DS is going to be racing in the kids race at both of those events. He is really excited about it.

We bike all year round. We sold our truck and bike everywhere now. No setting time aside to go to the gym. I already worked out just going to get the groceries. Biking in the rain and snow is fun too if you wear the proper gear! We just love biking can you tell?

I just got a bike after not having one for 8 years. I still rollerblade, but there is nothing like a good bike ride. We also picked up a double trailer and are still looking for a weeride front seat and trail-a-bike. This way the whole family can ride at the same pace. For now I am riding 1 time a week, but taking the kids on their bikes while I walk with the babe in a wrap. Oh how I wish babywearing and biking went together- though I did see one mom on the path while I was with my two wearing her baby in a bjorn thing. The other mom and I just looked at each other. She was smiling.

I started riding last spring. Am really starting to finally enjoy it now. In the begining I was so weak that I just felt miserable. Past few weeks I've done about ~35-40mi/week. Would like to get that up to 50 next week. It's about 20 miles on a weekly women's group road ride and the other half on my cruiser bike w/ my 3yo in a bike tutor seat.
