I mean either post-marriage/relationship or intra-separation in order to work at bettering communication for effective parenting. I'd like to suggest this to my husband but am, first of all, not sure what sort of therapist to look for and also not sure how to put this to him (of the martyr complex) without him thinking I'm passing judgement on his communication skills.

Any experiences? I've really love to hear them.....

We went to counselling during the first six months of our separation in order to find a way to communicate about issues around the children.
In some ways it helped. I heard a lot of his grievances for the first time & I learned a bit from it.
The counsellor sucked.
After a few weeks she suggested that we only communicate through email.
She was a family counsellor.
I would like to go back again but I know my ex would not have any part of it.....just cause I figured out a whole new set of things to "address".
