of this little human in your abdomen?<br><br>
I often startle awake at night when s/he figits. Half asleep I'm half thinking that I'm in some sci-fi/horror movie. Her movements are so unbelievable-I'm just constantly amazed and shocked and well....sometimes a little freaked out. I love feeling her turn and kick and stretch and hula, and I love that DH can feel and see it too-but when I really think about it-I mean really have a deep thoughts moment-I get a little panic-y. This isn't gas!!! This is a little person!!!!

lol, sure! I've even let my imagination wander to think about what if the baby isn't a real baby but a demon/monster/alien/cyborg type being! of course that's from watching wayyyy too many 80's movies. and once I even started getting a panic attack realizing "there is a person inside me and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it"! haha. it's very weird.<br>
but mostly all I can think now is "come on baby, you can be born in a couple weeks!"

I think that's why those 3D & 4D u/s make me a little weirded out...cause you can SEE the little person. With the regular u/s they look like aliens LOL!

I always think: Holy Crap! I have a human being INSIDE of my body!!! And for those of you having boys... you have a pair of testicles and a penis floating around inside of you. :LOL Bet you'd never thought about that!! :LOL

Yep, freaky. Especially when she does a weird, painful punch and I'm like, "what are you doing??"<br><br>
And I'm still not convinced 100% it is a girl. I start suspecting hermaphrodites with testes that descend at puberty ala Middlesex (not that there's anything wrong with that) and panic.<br><br>
I had a friend who HATED pregnancy because she could not get the alien image out of her mind the whole 9 months. I think it's prettty common, all things considered.

I'm putting my hand up too!<br><br>
Until now, I have been pushing the thought out of my mind and just concentrating on getting through one week at a time.<br><br>
Now I am getting thumped and stretched from the inside and some of them certainly do not tickle (as other mumma's would know) and I find myself thinking that is my child in there, who is going to be so dependant on my DH and myself.<br><br>
The birth, the realisation of the responsibility of looking after someone else and one income (not that I wasn't aware of it before we TTC but being aware of it and facing it after being DINKS for a while are two different things).<br><br>
I want to be a fantastic mother to this child. I want him to have a happy and healthy childhood and grow up to be a wonderful well balanced person who contributes to society. When I think about it, I sometimes get worried that maybe I may not do a good job.<br><br>
I said to DH that that his birth is now like a light at the end of a long tunnel, but I sincerely hope that it isn't a freight train that is going to run me over. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

OMG I never thought of that. Now I'm actually glad that the male genetalia was so prominent and obvious, at least I don't have to worry about hermaphrodite issues (no there's nothing WRONG with that, per se, but it's not going to be <i>easier</i> for your child to be happy and well adjusted in this society if born with such an issue).

Yes well how about this one...<br>
For those of you having girls-your little peanut's ovaries already have her lifetime supply of ovums, meaning you are not only carrying your daughter but one half of all of her future children. You've got grandbabies in there!!! :LOL

Yep- I can totally relate! That realization just hit me like a ton of bricks the other day...I woke up and felt my huge tummy and thought "how on earth did THIS happen?!" <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">

Yep...he totally freaks me out. Especially when my belly is nothing but a mass of lumps moving across my belly. I often call him the little alien baby and I think one of these days, a foot will emerge from my already stuck out belly button.

I'm with y'all...it's SO strange. I look at this mound of bumpiness, all from ONE little choice we made, and there's going to be another HUMAN BEING ON THE PLANET????!!!<br><br>
also, DH likes to get the bean riled up, kid really responds to dad's voice, it's neat, but sometimes annoying, on Sunday, he asked the kid if he wanted pancakes for breakfast and the child practically broke through! he pushed *so* hard against DH's hand, and on the other side, sheesh.
