I was thinking about getting some pregnancy tests, and I was reresearching when I should attempt to start checking.. I saw a note on an info site that said that if you can't clearly read your result, to seek medical help to read it.. reminded me of the time I drove crying to the hospital and demanded that a nurse in the maternity wing read my test. She said it was negative.. I cried harder all the way to dp's work, where he found me crying in the parking lot.. after he got me to talk to him and looked at the stick, he asked me if two lines was bad..

I love that man..

So, anyway, ever had someone else read your test for you? Why? Good or bad?

I've always read my own, mostly because I do FMU and DH is not awake when I do the test. For us, we don't tell people right away, usually wait at least 1-2 weeks after we find out, so I don't want anyone else to read the results, either.

Funny story. 6 years ago, we weren't really trying to have a child, but we weren't really stopping it either. We were visiting friends in NY when I had incredible tooth pain and had to go to the ER. There a nurse asked me if there was a chance I could be pregnant and I thought "no way" and then consider, "hmm, where is my period." I told her no way and got the drugs for the wisdom teeth and we got in the car to drive back home. On the way home I had DH if he thought it could be true and he said "no way, your period is like days away". Okay I agreed and went to sleep. The next morning I woke up feeling kind of guilty, hard to explain, and told DH I couldn't take anymore of the pain medicine until I knew for sure. He sort of looked at me funny, but agreed. I went to tested (on a test a friend had left in my apartment, never had bought a test before in my life) and then went back to bed with husband and actually cuddled, made love, took a nap, literally forgot about the test. About an hour later, DH went to the bathroom to pee and I lay in the bed, happy and content, and then I heard him. . . . "Huh" I suddenly remembered the test and knew from his voiced that it was positive. I laughed so hard and for so long. I love thinking about that moment. Thanks for the question.
