I asked my mw about this today and she said that the immune system is suppressed during pregnancy, presumably because all your energy is going towards growing your baby. I'm just so tired of the sore throat, runny nose, periodic fevers, etc.

I am sick right now!

It isn't very fun and I can't sleep. I lay awake for hours! Unfortunately, everybody else in my family is sick right now. I even took my DD to the E.R. yesterday (we do not have an urgent care) to see if she has an ear infection before we fly out tomorrow. Uggghhh!

yep! Honestly I feel as if I've been sick for the last six months. I've only just started to feel like a human being again. I had pneumonia, every single cold my son brought home from his care situation, every cough, you name it! I've been sick all winter. I'm so happy nice weather is here b/c it means less sickness for my son and therefore me! at least i'm hoping!

I was sick a lot in my first trimester, but knock on wood, I've been healthy since. (I'd like to blame it on DD who is in daycare full time.)

It is funny you mention this because I was NEVER sick at all during my first pregnancy. It could be because I was very anal about not touching my face or eating anything unless my hands were freshly washed or sanitized.

Lots of hugs to you. Being sick and pregnant is no fun.

Strangely I get sick less when pregnant. However, my allergies are downright torturous. So I guess that is a trade off.

I'm on my 4th cold since Christmas. Since each one has hung around a week or more, I figure I've spent 25% of the time blowing my nose since December. That explains how the tissue box always seems to be empty.

I am REALLY getting tired of it. This one has hung on for 10 days now. At least at this point I don't FEEL sick anymore, but the cough has hung around. Blech.
