I know I have an anterior placenta, and my MW thinks that effects things, but I feel like my baby is super mellow. I feel several kicks an hour, but often nothing major and a lot of the time she is totally quiet. Then maybe once or twice a week she'll have a crazy day where she moves a ton. I remember thinking my son was really mellow, to the point I went to L and D twice to see if he was still in there. He turned out to be a super mellow baby too. Here's hoping I get lucky again.

Not in your ddc but I have an anterior placenta as well and think it plays a role with feeling my little one. He's been pretty mellow for the most part though does have more active periods throughout the day. I'm hoping he's just a chill baby

My placenta is also anterior lol...and this one seems to move a lot less than my first...I actually freaked out his morning because I couldn't remember feeling him move yesterday, but, I felt one move this morning after laying in bed concentrating on it.

This one is a crazy mover. However, my daughter was super mellow (not sure where my placenta was). I am so glad that I had her first, because I would be so nervous had I had the mover first. I would not feel her for hours and hours sometimes.

Also, I would not call my daughter mellow. She WAS a mellow baby but somewhere during that 2nd year, she has become rather intense. Not sure how common that is.

I feel very little movement. Some days I think back and wonder if I have felt movement at all.

I do get a few kicks here and there at different times of the day, but this baby is incredibly mellow.

Yeah, same here. My son was born two weeks after your daughter. He was super mellow and easy going until a bit before two, and is now a crazy ball of energy. He exhausts me!

I have a top/anterior placenta AND he is transverse... anyhow, I don't fel much... just a few nudges on the side here and there ... so I figured he's a calm guy... um, NO.

When I had an ultrasound at 23 weeks to check on some issues I have had, he was moving all over all the time. The lady was like 'please cooperate baby' and had a hard time measuring everything because of how wiggly he was. Makes me a little nervous because I only felt him move twice during the u/s and yet he was going NUTSO. My baby might just be the crazy baby to end all crazy babies... and I thought my daughter was bad. LOL!

My first was very mellow, though I didn't realize it at the time. He only moved slowly and never really startled me. This one, however, is a super-crazy bouncing wonder who actually makes me nauseous sometimes with all the activity! I really cannot believe the difference!

Here's hoping for a mellow baby!!! Both my DD's were gymnasts in the womb, super movers. Doing kick counts was laughable. And both were super high intensity babies (NO sleep here!) So I'm fervently praying that this one being mellow inside will translate to a mellow baby -- who sleeps a lot, whenever, wherever, without extensive ritual to get him/her to sleep 20 min in a row. Can you tell I'm a little worried about sleep??? Frankly, I'd happily take a sleepy infant who grows into a challenging toddler!!!

But my placenta's right on the back of my uterus so I think I just feel things more. It makes me go "oh!" sometimes in public places when he gives me a hard kick, I wonder what it will feel like 10 weeks from now???

Thank you for posting this! I too have an anterior placenta, and this one does not move anywhere near as much as my ds did! He was a little kung fu baby, moving all teh time. Outside of the womb, he wasn't hyper or high maintenance, but he was/is a very busy little boy. It does make me wonder what this one will be like!

Oh, I forgot to mention that my dd2 was the absolute mellowest in-utero baby (and had an anterior placenta) and she was also super-mellow on the outside. Until she was about 18 months.

I have an anterior placenta and this baby is a mover! She's really active in the evenings and when I'm in the car, for some reason. She kicked me so hard last Thursday when I was driving home from work that it made me jump!

My placenta is also anterior- wow, it seems like there are a lot of us! Due to the placement of the placenta I know I missing a lot of kicks (according to u/s and doppler) but I do feel a lot of movement down low and up high. Basically anywhere that the placenta doesnt cover. Lately this babe is unhappy when my bladder is full so I get booted in the bladder a lot
