This totally sucks. Sunday morning my back went out doing nothing but turning over in bed (am I that huge?). I was stuck in bed for two days, and now I'm stuck hobbling around without bending over at all. Thank goodness I'm starting to feel better (after massaging and stretching CONSTANTLY). How the heck do I not bend over when I've got two 2 year olds and a 9 month old? We've figured out a somewhat-system so I do the least amount of picking up but even my leg muscles are so weak it is difficult to only lift with my legs. I hate having a bad back. Why does it always choose the worst possible time to freak out on me? Okay, I admit that it is all my fault...I've been so tired with this pregnancy that I have neglected my usual exercises that I do.
Well, I think I am done with my own personal pity party. Poo.

I'm so sorry! I feel for you! I hurt my back last month, I think it was, and it made life so much harder...

Both acupuncture and chiropractic helped me to recover quickly from this last injury.

I can't help with lifting your 9 month old, but, for your toddler, I can say my preschooler really enjoyed using a small stepladder/stepstool to "help me" get him up to the changing table, etc. It made it so much easier when I did need to hold/shift him, because he could climb up to my chest level himself, so I didn't need my back for at least the lifting part.

Take care, and take it easy.

My regular visits to the Chiropractor during the entire pregnancy I think helped my sturcture in general adjust better to my growing belly. I will starting to go every other week now since like you it's the shifting in bed thing that seems to be straining my back the most. I have to wake up every hour or so (either b/c my arm falls asleep faster or I need to pee) just so that I can shift to the other side.

I feel so overwhelmed and toast right now I can't imaging trying to maneuver with another baby or two in tow. But I hope to find out in a couple of years! : But first things first. Let's see how we handle this one.

I had been doing great and lovely, until the sun finally came out around here. The first day of spring-like weather and I just had to go and clean out the garden...for 3 hours. Dumb. Now I'm taking long showers with the water on the pulse setting. Problem being, it's a stall shower and I can't quite get close enough to the wall to get the water on the base of the back.
