I'm not in Kitchener...any more. But I did a similar posting more than a year ago and got one reply. Since I moved we've lost touch but I'll see if I can email her and let her know there's some one new in K-W looking for "mothering" friends. I'm almost an hour away from K-W now, closer to London & Stratford. But if you're ever in the Stratford area you can let me know.<br>
Good luck in finding other Mothering mummies in Kitchener; they're out there, just have patience.<br>
By the way, love your little ones name, it's almost the same as my mum's, "elia"<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br>
I have a three year old daughter and a four month old daughter. I live near Peterborough. Not that I am too close but close enought eh!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">
I'm name is Corrie, and I'm new to Cambridge and know no one here. I have a 17 mth old son who keeps me pretty busy, but I'm going stir crazy regardless! I'd love to meet someone in the area... let me know if you'd like to talk.
I am in Windsor and if you gals ever want to do a day trip to somewhere half way between us, I am up for it. I have never been to that African Lion Safari. And if you want to make the trip a bit further, you could always come to Colasanti's in Leamington. And in the warmer months we could meet up at Storybook Gardens. They have some fabulous new attractions there that are great for toddlers!
I'm originally from Windsor, and do go home fairly often. I love Colasanti's, but haven't been there in ages. It would be fun to go there some time. I hear from my sister that they have a whole indoor playground now. Do you know if they still have those donuts?
I don't know anything about donuts. Actually, I think I read somewhere that Mr. Colasanti's father used to stand out front making donuts. Is that what you are talking about? If so, that isn't there any more. They have a couple really neat gift shops inside and mini golf and a jungle gym and I think some toddler rides. They also have the petting zoo and several animals that can't be petted, like tigers, snakes, etc. They also have a very large cafeteria/restaurant area.<br><br>
I live between Windsor and Leamington, in McGregor. Daytime is the best time for me to get out of the house. We own a business that requires my husband to use both our vehicles in the evening and nighttime.
I know this is an old thread but I thought that I would post anyways. I live in Markdale, ON and travel to K-W every few weeks to visit family. I have a 22mo dd and am expecting in mid August. I would love to meet some with some other AP moms.<br><br>
ETA: mcmommy how did your homebirth turn out? we are going to try a hypnobirth-waterbirth at home.
There is a midwifery group in Owen Sound and they also have an office in Stayner. They are a great bunch of midwives. Very supportive and easy going. Even though they have never done a hypnobirth they are excited to see it happen. They will travel all the way to Markdale from Owen Sound when I am ready to give birth.
yes, I used them as well at home- I didn't know they would be cool with water birth- but why wouldn't they- they are great!<br>
Heather was my primary but Lynne Marie??? I aways forget her name delivered.<br>
Hypno-birth sounds intresting.
My primary is Lucie and my secondary is a new midwife named shawn. Both are great. I have not met any of the other midwives there. I will PM you and maybe you can tell me about your birth story. I had a bad experience with my first midwife with dd and don't want it to happen agan.
I live close to Kitchener - between there and Stratford, in the middle of nowhere. I am not Mennonite but all my neighbours are! (Talk about a nice neighbourhood!). Good to know there are more of us! Not a homebirther myself, b/c I have the world's coolest doctor in Listowel, who doesn't even bug me about not vaxing, and believes in birth with as few interventions as possible. But there's a bunch midwives out here too. Anybody worked with/heard of the Millbank Midwives Clinic?
