I am now 5 1/2 weeks pregnant and have lost my appetite for any and all food. I did not experience this at all when I was pregnant with my son. This started about 2 weeks ago and has just gotten worse and worse. I haven't had morning sickness or anything, it's just that no food sounds good to me to eat. I try to eat small meals of foods that I can tolerate like apples and green salads, but I get full after, like, two bites. I normally have a huge appetite and this is totally new to me. Also, I can't stomach any of my old favorites anymore like steamed broccoli, cauliflower, brown rice, peanut butter, avocadoes, watermelon, or peaches. Anyone one else exoerienced this?? When will it end???

Yes! I'm 30 weeks and eating is a chore!! I force myself to eat just about everything. Things I used to love are just blah right now. I have to keep telling myself that I'm growing a baby, otherwise I wouldn't eat much at all. Hang in there, it's worth the trouble!!

Oh no, you mean that this didn't pass after the first trimester!?! Yikes! I was hoping that I could look forward to eating normally again in a couple of weeks. The worst part is that I have aversions to the healthiest foods that I used to love to eat, so I feel like I'm depriving myself of those great nutrients when I need them the most. I guess I'll just keep trying.... Thanks for your response!

I went through it as well. I am going on my 14th week and It started as soon as I became pregnant like you. It is slowly getting better. I havent gained any weight yet but I havent lost any either. I see you are in Tucson. I am In Willcox and I just chalked it up to heat.
But it does get better. This is my third baby and I never had this with my other two either! I hope it gets better. Try fruits and raw veggies? Snack through out the day. I wake up starved but then go to eat and only have a few bites and then I am full So i will eat small things throughout the day

Thanks for the ray of hope, Christymama. I am definitely looking forward to this getting better. The heat can definitely make it worse, but now that it's starting to cool off it shouldn't be as much of a factor. I am trying to work on adding in some raw cauliflower and broccoli, two veggies that I loved cooked before and I think are worth keeping in my diet in some way, shape, or form. I have been eating a lot of fruit in the morning, those that I feel like having anyway. I think I'm going to start eating more frequently throughout the day like you suggested. I'm used to eating three big meals a day plus dessert at night and I think I''m going to have to change this. Anyone have any ideas on why our bodies do this with one pregnancy but not another?? I hope it's an indication that I'm having a girl this time
