OK, I know some of you swear by these, but I've also read tons of the horor stories of both of these. Every time I read about a great new diaper I seems to ALWAYS contain one or both of these!! Especially all of the favorites!!

I guess thats why I keep going back to my pre-folds and nylon covers. I just want to be able to throw everything in the washer at ONE time and not have to worry about "super stink" (which I've experienced myself from hemp) or the dreaded "repeling" from fleece.

Whats a girl to do??

Hey, not all of us WAHM's only use hemp and fleece! LOL
I personally have a mix of diapers (hemp, sherpa, knit terry, etc) and I haven't had the hemp stink yet.

I steer slightly around fleece due to DS's sensitivity, but hemp I love as long as it's not superthick (like joeys-the only thing that stunk for us). I like hemp for absorbancy overall, honestly.

I LOVE both...
I did find that hemp fleece will stink when it is super thick and can't get all the way dry... Maybe try a diaper that has a snap in or lay in soaker there are TON's of WHAM's that make them..

And I have never had a problem with fleece wicking but, you need to make sure fleece gets dryed in the dryer..

Me. I'm afraid of hemp. It takes my prefolds long enough to dry.

I'm a chicken.

I like the fleece in my pocket diapers, but we haven't tried it in anything else. I'm not afriad of it, though. I'm simply Pro-PUL.

LOL, i have hemp prefolds and inserts for pocket dipes, never had a problem with stink...
fleece i am careful with, just use a bit less detergent and rinse an extra time... i wash everything together though....

wool is what intimidates me! i just know its gonna get tossed in the washer on accident and end up the size for my daughters doll!

I love quick dry diapers. Our hemp quick dry dipes dry just as fast as our non-hemp dipes and they dry faster than our premium prefolds. Like Liz said, I don't trust sewn in hemp soakers, because I don't think they get clean enough. As far as fleece goes, its really only pocket dipes you have to really be careful with and I don't care for those anyways. I do find that too much work to worry about repelling issues.

I only use fleece pockets & hemp & have NEVER EVER EVER had a problem with stink or repelling. I throw everything in together: cold rinse, hot wash with a LITTLE Era or Tide then wash again with no detergent.
I LOVE THEM!!! I have CD'ed all three babies & these weren't around with the first two. I used prefolds & wool or nylon covers. I changed clothing all day long & had to use sposies at night. Now I use WP pockets at night, & reg for the day time & you couldn't pry me from my pockets for all the money in the world!
(Well....all the $$$ in the world could buy a super new stash of pockets.....:LOL)
It's all preference baby!!!

I'm afraid of thick hemp. Even my thinner hemp periodically gets a horrible smell that only changing detergents has fixed... temporarily.

I really don't use hemp much-as it just doesn't dry fast enough for me (though the quick dry diapers do work better than the standard sewn in variety), and I LOVE pocket diapers. I have never, ever had repelling fleece-and I don't have leaking/wicking. I generally use the WP at night (like Stacey) and the regular PUL variety during they day-though I do spice it up with the occassional CPF and cover-I am not one to become bored with my diapering LOL. I am pro microfiber terry! I am all for it since it is trim in the dipe and keeps baby very very dry. I use cheapo detergent (old fashioned Purex) and wash much as Stacey's routine mentioned above.
I have only been CDing for a few months, but I LOVE both fleece and hemp! I have fleece in ALL my favorite dipes (no repelling yet - I wash on hot once, rinse twice on cold with normal Tide and no fabric softener), and I use hemp JBz every night (2 of them) and no stink yet, either! Maybe I am just in the honeymoon period still, but I think they are both awesome diaper fabrics.

Well I had used the hemparoos and the polar babies hemp diapers. Yes great for absorbancy but the stink was unbearable!!! So some of you seem to think that its just because it was thick and wasn't getting clean enough. I mean I've washed them till kingdom come and they were still stinky. Now I havn't had the fleece problems myself becasue I'm too afraid to buy it with everything I've read. But why would repeling only be a concern for the pocket dipes and non of the others??
