she used to be but now it is my 2 y/o that gets up at 4 for a drink. if I'm lucky I can get the drink without waking up lana and get us all back to sleep fairly quickly. b/n 4 and 5 is her usual time to wake up just enough to eat and then go back to sleep before waking up at 7-8 to talk to the ceiling fan. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Ours did.<br><br>
Now her time to want to play like that happens between 2 and 3.<br><br>
She used to just flirt with all the ceiling fans though - I think she liked them more than she liked us for a bit. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

Mine was! Weird, he just started this trend a couple weeks ago... he's up for about 1/2 an hour, hmmmming to himself, I usually have to rock him back to sleep. Cute, but I hope the stage is shortlived <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

DD2 sleeps in a sidecar, and it has a mobile. After I nurse her late at night sometimes she's still awake and if I put her in the sidecar she'll lie there and talk to the mobile for ages. It's so cute. DH says as long as she's happy I should take advantage and go back to sleep, but I usually wind up lying there and watching her because it's adorable.

OMG! This morning my dd was completely awake at 4 am, too! She usually isn't, thank goodness, but how weird to see this thread the same day she does it <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Mine's done that only three times in her one year of life, and I'm glad that's been it. I know we've been really lucky on that front, but MAN those nights can be so long!! DD did it at like 1am, so she was basically up from 1am to around 8am. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
Makes you wish kids have an "off" button sometimes doesn't it? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">

DS2 definitly wakes up at 4am and chats away to his mobile, the pictures on his wall, etc. I could almost set a clock by him he is so predictable. It is cute hearing the squeaks and squeals coming over the monitor.

I totally wish they had an OFF button, or at least some understanding of OUR schedule.... I had to get up at 5:30 today to go to work.... but we got up at 4 instead!! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br>
I couldn't even beg dh to get up, he had just gone to bed at 3am after getting home from work. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br>

YES! I think it is the funniest thing ever. 6mo ds does this while he whispers. I also woke up to find that he had rolled over onto his tummy, turned perpendicular to my body and was whispering to the nightlight.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Maybe they know something about the furniture that we forgot?! DS has taken to smiling and giggling at the dresser. (Just thankful it isn't to the closet, there ARE monsters in there)

ROFLMAO!<br><br>
AnamCara - that is the funniest thing. I am SOO glad someone else out there also realizes there are monsters in the closet. I used to freak out when my cat would all of a sudden just stare at the closet door...almost made me want to run out the house!<br><br>
Ahh...thanks for the laugh!
