I have been taking my prenatals (Rainbow Lite One a Day) for several months before getting pregnant....no problems. I have had diarrhea off and on through out most of this pregnancy. I know diarrhea is a fairly common early pregnancy symptom but I have noticed a pattern with my vitamin. The days I forget to take my vitamin I dont get diarrhea. Recently I have been taking them at night before bed and then have diarrhea the next day. For the past two days no diarrhea and I have not taken vitamin....hmmmm. Is anyone else dealing with this or has had this happen. I have a history of bowel issues which were all corrected with first pregnancy...thank goodness. I do know pregnancy can either make irritable bowels better or worse. If it is from vitamins, does anyone reccomend a vitamin that may not do this. My queasiness also seems to be better when I miss the vitamin.

Does your vitamin have stool softener in it? If so maybe you need to try one without it. Mine does have stool softener and unfortunately I just wish I could go to the bathroom!

I can't believe you posted this! (And I am kind of grossed out at myself for responding! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/yikes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="EEK!">) I was just thinking this exact thing only a few moments ago, and I am also taking the Rainbow Lite One a Day - which I can't bring myself to take every day for just this reason.

I was bragging about not being constipated last week, and now I am. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
I had a prenatal that gave me diarrhea. I think it had some sort of food in it that wasn't agreeing with me during that particular pregnancy. I have weird food issues that change every time I get pregnant.

I take Trader Joe's Prenatal and don't have any issues. Maybe switch to a different prenatal?

I had this problem with my pregnancy with ds. I am pretty sure I was taking Rainbow Light at the time too. I am taking New Chapter's Perfect Prenatal now, and I am not having any problems this time around.
