I had preeclampsia in my first pregnancy, and am hoping to avoid that this time around. I have done a tiny bit of reading on it, but I wondered if anyone here knows more.

I try but i get so tired,a nd with a 17 month old.....there are times i go for the easy food and not so much what is on teh list -- an apple with chese slices is faster and less effort than a baked yam sometimes, yk?

but it is my guild post.

http://www.bradleybirth.com/PD.aspx

if you do to that link there is an AWSOME downloadable excell sheet that i use. not only can you add in stuff as you eat it -- and the computer does all the math for you -- but there are a lot of "look up pages". I love it.

there was a thread a while ago about the diet. adn i think it has it's own website that was down at teh time. let me see if i can find that old thread, i can't promise but if i do I will link it for you.

Oh, that's wonderful!!

I will start on it ASAP: I am 60 lbs above my ideal weight and have history of beginning of pre-eclampsia even though it happened on the 42nd week of pregnancy. I want to have a homebirth and really need to take care of myself.

I better look into it. I had toxemia with the first two and PIH with the third. I want a homebirth, so I had better do everything I can do now. Wel, okay, everything I can do AFTER I am not so sick anymore!

Hi, Poli! You were in my due date club when we had our last tykes in March 2005. And, you recently moved from my city to across the pond. Congrats on your newest baby on the way!

I follow the Brewer Diet. I printed off a sheet for my fridge with all of the portions listed. Then, I cut up an old refrigerator calendar magnet into little squares. I then move a little magnet square for each category over to the amount of servings I've eaten of that food that day.

Does that sound confusing? It was really easy, and very helpful. Should I post a pic?

Thanks, Aimee, for the great link. I've been trying to do this diet more or less- trying to get TONS of protein, although I refuse to drink milk- I just don't think it's good for me or my babies, and it tastes bad to me. My eyes popped out of my head though to see that hot dogs, dorritos and cola were recommended.

where did you find that, are they actually suggested or are they just on the "look it up pages" ??

I don't remember junk food being a suggested food.
