I haven't had it before, but last appointment it was a little elevated. I started feeling pretty shaky and awful today and had DH take me to the drug store to measure it and it was 156/91 and I was breathless.<br><br>
The OB on call told me to put my feet up and drink lots of water.<br><br>
I've been essentially on my rear for the last week because of the membrane rupture. I'm feeling pretty lousy.<br><br>
Anyone else had high blood pressure? Anyone have it this early on? 11w3d.

I had it for most of my pregnancy last time. My midwife told me to eat more protein, and alothough I was skeptical, every time I did it went down.

I had it the last two months of my last pregnancy and it turned into preeclampsia. Never had it this early though... Hope things get better!

I had it the last month of my first pregnancy. My midwife suggested: protein, swimming regularly (swimming especially because it puts equal pressure all over your body at once), taking extra calcium/magnesium, 1000 mg in 2 doses separate from your prenatal vitamin, cucumbers (I ate a whole one every day) and acupuncture. I was able to keep my blood pressure just under the high-risk border with these, which do sound a bit kooky, I admit. Also, I realized that my right arm always takes a higher reading than my left, and that if I calmed down and visualized the blood pumping through my body with my eyes closed for a few minutes before getting it taken, it seemed to be lower.

Thanks for all the tips! It was normal today at the MW/OB office. She thinks I'm having anxiety, which is probably true. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

DDCC. I had high bp this last pregnancy which started at 17 weeks. At 20 weeks I was put on 100 mg of Labetalol once per day. It was upped to 200 mg twice a day. Eventually we had to add in another medication (methyldopa). By the end of my pregnancy I was on 200 mg of labetalol 2x/day and 250 mg of methyldopa 2x/day. So 400mg of lab and 500 mg of methyl. I developed very mild pre-e at the end and my baby was delivered by c/s (due to other things) at 38+5.
