Last December my husband's company switched from Premera Blue Cross to United Health Care. Since the switch, UHC has denied almost every claim we've made and I've had to have almost everything resubmitted because all the things we see practitioners for should be covered under our plan.

The good news is that after the new year, his company can bid a new plan with a new company. Yeah!

So, I was wondering if any of you have an insurance company that you actually like and that has good coverage (and will cover home birth).

I'd love to hear all about any good experiences you have with your provider!!!

I love, love, love our Cigna Healthcare Open Access Plus PPO. It's through Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. Did I mention I love it?

I have United and LOVE them. I have never had anything denied nor had to squabble with them. Their cs has always been top notch too.

It's less about the provider and more about the plan. I have BCBS-Massachussets, and our plan is very good for stuff you rarely use (emergencies, cancer treatment, maternity care) and not as great for stuff you frequently use (doc. office copays, Rx copays, etc.). But we have been pleased.

Have Harvard Pilgrim HMO for last several years and love them. Have never had any coverage issues with them. They've been voted #1 HMO for past several years I think.
Also had Blue Cross at one time, which I liked a lot too.

Had United in past - hated them - had coverage issues with BCP of all things!

Tufts was ok. We switched from them to HP as HP covered more prenatal care (no co-pays for dr visits, while Tufts charged co-pays)

My old company had Cigna and I heard many complaints from co-workers on them. I went through my DH's insurance instead.

Harvard Pilgrim is my favourite out of all above.

We had a Cigna HMO when we lived in Sothern Cal. They were great!

We just got BCBS of Kansas and so far are very impressed with them. Customer Service has been outstanding. We also have a case manager because of my daughter. She has been outstanding as well.
