The birth center I had DS at closed due to the rising insurance costs, so I'm on the hunt.

Have you, or anyone else you know and who can email me, had experience with the Yoder birth center in Kansas? Any experience with either of the midwives there (Lois Yoder and Angel Schmutz)?

I worked at the Birth Center where Angie did her training; I liked her.

That birth center definitely has a religious bent--but not in an evangelical sort of way. I mean, they serve a lot of mennonites and amish in the community; I think they are very religious but reserved and unassuming people who are providing a birthing service to the women of the area. I am an athiest, and I wouldn't have had a problem birthing with them, fwiw.

One of my friends from Wichita birthed her first baby there, and they were very happy with their birth there. Her next baby she birthed at home; I don't know who the midwife was.
