I am pregnant with number 4. My oldest will be 5 in May, his brother is 22 months younger and just turned three, his brother is 20 months younger and he is 16 months. Number three will be 24 months-ish when the baby is born. We don't use BC, I exclusively breastfeed, I'm currently tandem nursing, yada yada, and it seems I always get pregnant around the one year mark. This pregnancy is very welcome.

My last midwife (we moved recently) told me I needed to take a break, and wait a few more years before having another child. And several midwives I have talked to have said something about it. Then of course my family, etc.

I know pregnancy is hard on a woman's body. But is there anything specific I should be doing, or worrying about? Or is there anybody who can tell me it can be done at least? I don't really know what I'm looking for, words of advice or encouragement I guess.

Please, no flames.

Hey mama congrats on your pregnancy!!!

I dont have any real advice, just want you to know your not the only one with close babies.. DS is 14 months, and I am due with #2 end of July they will be roughtly 18 months apart from one another...

I think your midwifes biggest concern is more of your uterus, and the strength it has to hold new baby in there for the full term.. I know I am already experiencing things that I should not and I am a healthy mama... I eat right, and exercise, and drink tons of water, but I am guessing cause my cervix and utuerus all already stretched out and relaxed, its cuasing me issues... I go tomorrow to get the jist of whats going with me...

Good luck mama.. I bet your kids are going to grow up best friends

I will have my 6th girl in just 10 years; I have nursed throughout, weaned during pregnancies, but never have I had a break. I have never had anyone tell me to wait...I have carried them all to term so far...I pray I will this time as well.

Take it easy, rest when you can, stay hydrated...good luck, mama!
