I've found some things via Dr. Google that suggest finding out the sex at 12 weeks can be done pretty accurately during the nuchal translucency scan. I've got my scan in a week and was wondering if anyone has actually found out the sex at that scan? And if so, was it right?

I did. Honestly, had I not gone thru the NT Scan and had the head perinatalogist (I think that's his title?) tell me it's a girl and he's over 80% accurate, I wouldn't have believed you could find out at 12w. He basically showed me some line and printed pics and explained that while external genetila is still developing/not developed yet, there is some line/nub thing where they can tell. It's either horizontal or vertical I guess.

I was 12w5d and was told girl. At my 18w u/s, girl was confirmed. I didn't buy anything pink until that 18w u/s though!

Usually, boys are more easily identified around 12-13 weeks if they are already fully formed, which might not be the case, hence making identifying a girl a little more tricky as the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

That only applies to good quality 3D ultrasound machines, not older equipment where it is really hard to make out that area that early in the pregnancy.

We found out at my 12 week NT scan that this babe is a girl. Confirmed at 14 week scan, 18 week scan, and probably again at my scan tomorrow. Good luck!
