I was wondering, anyone have a toddler become interested in using the potty when you started EC'ing an infant?

My son, who is almost 3, is very anti-potty, even though I have never pushed it or made it a big issue. I'm due in less than three months (plan to start EC'ing after a week or so), and wondered if anyone had any experience with potty training/learning a toddler while EC'ing an infant. I'm also concerned about being able to pay attention to baby's cues while also watching my older son. Thought it would be nice to let him run around diaperless if it will ever get warm up here. : I just feel soo horrible that he wants to sit in diapers--like I have to undue mommy-inflicted damage. I sure wish baby's came with instruction manuals!!

Hi,

That is exactly what happened to me. We have a daughter 2.5 yrs old who wouldn't have anything to do with the potty until she saw her baby brother (now 7 mos) going on it. I actually stumbled onto Ec info online while looking for potty training sadvice for my toddler.

It is hectic trying to do this with two children and I have had to buy multiple potties because often my daughter gets jealous that her brother is on the potty and that is of course the exact moment when she "needs" to go too!

I'm in MA. so its very cold here too - the naked thing works very well for both of them but I am always worried that they are freezing and my heating bills are outrageous!

Cool! That is what I'm hoping, as I really don't want to start pushing him too much. I'd rather he want to use the potty on his own. The more than one potty thing is a great idea, thanks. Wouldn't have thought of that one.
