I guess i technically did. Before I got pg with ds2 I was doing the SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) which is pretty darn NT. Pastured meat, eggs, cultured dairy, nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies. No grains, no sugar and no potatoes. I wouldn't have lost just doing NT because of the grains.

I ate a TON of fat, a ton of meat, fish, eggs, nuts and seeds.

I went very heavy on veggies and fruit as well. It worked really well for my body. I had been vegan and made the change for my nursing dd's health. Turned out it was good for my health too!

I still struggle as I don't like to eat meat, can't do dairy anymore (ds2 can't tolerate it) In my heart I am vegan. The weight stays off as long as the grains stay out and my diet is heavy in leafy greens. I don't gain when I don't eat meat. However, the only thing that made me lose that much that fast was the SCD.

firefaery, how fast did you lose the weight?

Starting this month, I cut out grains and sugar (except for a little bit of rice...I don't seem to react to it so much) and have been eating a ton of greens, pastured eggs and meat, homemade goat milk kefir and cheese, and supplementing with CLO and coconut oil (saving up some money to buy butter oil). I don't have access to a scale this weekend, but over the last two weeks I have been losing roughly one. pound. per. day. (!!!!!!!!!!!!) I have struggled with my weight for most of my life, and always had a hard time losing any even when I was mostly vegetarian and working out for 2+ hours a day, including lots of cardio and regularly lifting weights. I'm still in shock that the weight is just coming off like it is. I didn't even change my exercise routine. I'm just walking my dog as usual. Since the end of May, I've lost 10 pounds (maybe more, like I said I don't have access to a scale this weekend). I have 45 more pounds to go at this point. When that happens, I'll come back and tell everyone how I lost 50+ pounds on a TF diet (since I'm pretty sure it's not a tapeworm
).

Even more remarkable than this rapid weight loss is my sense of well being. My lifelong depression seems to be lifting (!!!!!!) which is the most important thing to me, far moreso than the weight. But also, my acne is clearing up and my hair is so much thicker and fuller and my previously chronic dry scalp/dandruff has disappeared. I have so much energy too!

Anyway, did you have a similar experience, firefaery?

yeah, my health improved DRAMATICALLY-most of it I assume was taking out gluten for hte first time. But still, it was noticeable.

I'd guess that the first 50 came off in like 4 months. I started out at 210. I lost 55, got pregnant, went back to raw food. I stayed raw until my 9th month and then added *some* meat back in. After giving birth I was back up to like 190. I am now at 139. I'm 5'6.

I work out ALOT. I eat anything I want withing "my" guidelines. I really don't limit anything that I can eat. I don't do any grains, no dairy, no soy, no eggs, no sugar-nothing refined. I have no issues with weight, no digestive problems, skin problems, blood sugar problems (as long as I'm doing a bit of meat-go figure) my hair is thicker and I just feel better!
