I signed up for Team In Training to run a marathon in May. I did it to lose baby weight and get back in shape, because I love running, and because I wanted to join a cause. In the past I've always just trained alone for my races, but this time I have something to be running for!!

Team In Training is a fundraising group for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society http://www.teamintraining.org/ I was "assigned" a local girl who is in remission, but I am allowed to train and race in honor of someone else. I don't know anyone personally who has had either, so I thought I'd ask here!

Once I get my fundraising page set up, I'll share it with you guys. It's such a wonderful organization, and such a great way for me to have fun, make friends, lose weight, and run in a great race!

Wow! What a great thing to do. I know someone who does it in honor of her brother who died of lymphoma and she loves it. She does the bike riding and has really become an avid bike rider/racer. I am a former bone marrow transplant nurse so virtually all my patients had leukemia or lymphoma - you will be running for a great cause!
I am happy to say I don't know anyone personally with lymphoma or leukemia, I think it's great to run for the girl in your area.

I'm excited to be paired up with a local hero, we're encouraged to take her out for ice cream or pizza or something during our training months, and she'll be at our social events and of course there on race day. But if there was anyone on here I thought I'd add them and their story to my fundraising page, and put their name on my jersey for the race

I'm very excited about it, I just got my 6 week post partum workout release from my dr, so I went to the gym yesterday! I'm going for a run tonight
