Hi there--
I don't live in Davis anymore, but I was born and raised there. It was a nice little town to grow up in. Many of my friends went on to go to UC Davis, but I wanted to get out and went to San Francisco State. We live in the Bay Area now--in Moraga.

I bet Davis is a great place to meet other AP moms.

Hugs,
Lisa

We must've passed each other on the way... I moved FROM San Francisco last year. Actually, I grew up in Woodland, and moved back to be closer to my family after having Max (and not being able to pay $1300/mo for childcare!!!)

Hi Regina,

I was going to pm you when we got up there. We decided we'd never afford a house in San Diego so we needed to get out of here. I have some family in Davis and further west in Concord so we are gettin while the gettin is good, lol.

We are still waiting to hear about the offer we put on the house, but we should be up there in the next couple of months.

I was trying to figure out how far the playgroups in Sac are from Woodland, maybe we can make some?

I'd love to finally meet since I seem to be following you

I have a question: My realtor keeps saying that West Sac is just as far from Concord as is Woodland and housing is cheaper there. So hes been encouraging us to look there. Woodland only has one acupunturist (which is what I do) so that could be a benefit to living there. I have no idea of what Acupuncture is like in West Sac.

So my question is what is West Sac like? I was thinking it was not very good neighborhoods - but some of these houses look nice. Is it a good place for a family?

Thanks!

Actually I think I am going to double post this over in the Sac thread too.

Hi Julie! I live in Woodland so I may be able to help you out here. West Sac has started to really grow in the past few years, and while there are some questionable neighborhoods, it remains an area that would be a great investment, and in close proximity to downtown Sac if that is an area you may frequent. Woodland has also started to grow in the last few years, and property value has skyrocketed (like the rest of CA), and continues to rise. AS far as communities, West Sac and Wdlnd are quite different. Wdlnd is a small farming town (pop. abt 55K, but rising), but about a 30 minute drive into Sac. It's quiet, but still has many conveniences of the city. As far as raising a family, I would probably prefer Wdlnd over West Sac, but West Sac may be a better investment. Make sense? Please ask if you have any more ?s or if there's anything else I can help with!

Mother & Baby Source is the only place I know of in Davis. Other than that, Goore's in Sacramento has a small selection of CDs.

I'm just getting so excited to find that there are families near me!!! Yippee!!! Maybe we can plan a little meet at the Farmer's Market Wednesday night...
