Hey all,
We're looking to move from the Baltimore area to York County, PA. I'd love to hear anything you have to say about the area - schools, neighborhoods, taxes, libraries, general cost of living stuff, people, anti-vax friendly doctors (although we might just drive the 30 minutes to our's in MD). Thanks!!

Hi there!
We are also from Baltimore (Timonium) and moved to York, PA. We have lived here for 3.5 years and I love it! I still go down to MD for naturopath and our dentist, but we are slowly staying up here more and more. I don't miss the traffic in anyway! There is a great health food store out in the country a bit called Sonnewald. Giant has a good sized health food section now too.
My dd is 10 and goes to the Waldorf School up here, so I don't know much about the public schools.
Feel free to ask any other questions you can think of.

Hey! What neighborhoods/areas south of York might you recommend? We're kind of looking in Spring Grove, Glen Rock, Stewartstown, Shrewsbury, New Freedom, maybe Red Lion. Is one a little nicer than the other?

We're hoping to homeschool, but I'm not totally sure if we are, and if not I'm hoping to use a private Catholic school.

DH is still going to be driving to MD for work (Cockeysville).

I am in York County too...

If your home budget is about $1 million, I know a great little farm for sale in Glen Rock (ok, not so little it is a hundred acres +):

You will want to come to the Fairy Festival at Spoutwood Farm, first weekend in May. They also run a CSA.

PM me if you want to get together at the Fairy Festival!

You might want to look at Jacobus - a nice lake, a great antique store, coffee shop, and Brown's Farm Market.

We live in Cumberland County, so I can't speak for York County. I know there are a lot of AP moms over there somewhere though.

I got a flyer for the Fairy Festival at my local health food store in Carlisle... have you been to past ones? What's it like?
