I thought of one more question that would make it easier for me to match people up. Anyone participating, if you could please let me know either pm or post, if you are not planning on buying a new gift, do you have gifts for a boy, girl, both or for mother? Thanks so much.

I've never had a baby shower, we just don't do that in my family

& I saw a baby shower swap on another discussion board & it looked like so much fun. Would anyone be interested in swapping little gifts? I know it is still early, but I love giving & getting gifts so why not?

Count me in. This is baby #4 for us. I only had a shower with dd #1 and nothing since. I'm sure I won't be getting one this time either.

If it helps, I wasn't thinking of spending lots of money. I know it is an issue for me so maybe it is for other people too. I'd even be happy with gently used items. I only have girls so I will be needing to go all out for this little boy & anything will be greatly appreciated. Any other takers?

Sure! I'd like that. I never had a shower since it isn't something we do in my family. We get gifts after the baby is born but its not the same. I have a little girl who is almost 11 months and I am 5 months pregnant with a boy. I love giving (and getting) baby gifts!

I'm up for it, although it sort of depends on the price, and whether we can do gently used things (of course the value is decreased in that case, but I do have lots of useful stuff around here but not new)

Well, in the other forum they had the minimum amount for gifts at $10 & if someone wanted to go over that amount, great, but just so they know they might not get the same back in return. I think $10 is a pretty good minimum price for people looking to buy or receive something new, but we could also have an option for people who wouldn't mind receiving something gently used. Maybe for the people who are sending gently used, we could make a minimum quantity of 2 items. For example, if you are sending gently used clothing, you need to send 2 shirts or 2 dresses. Below are some questions that everyone can fill out so I can match everyone up. Maybe everyone can PM or email me their addresses so I can pass them along to the gift givers. Let's try & keep quiet about who is sending what to who so it can be a nice surprise. I will keep the signup open until May 15th. It gives everyone time to get something & also for more people to sign up. If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know.

Also, we don't need to limit to baby items. Moms love gifts too!!! Lotions & scented candles are great!

I'd love to be in this too, we just need so much, mostly basics (like clothes and socks and hats and every day essentials) and since this is my second "new" isn't necessary! lol

Ok, this is starting to look like it might work. Seems we are getting enough interested people. If everyone could get their surveys in by May 15, I could do the matchups & we could have all the gifts sent out by June. Keep 'em coming.
