Does anyone know of any CPMs that work in ND? I have been having a heck of a time finding any. I found 3 CNMs but they are all hospital affiliated obviously. Can anyone PM me or post here if they are comfortable? I'd like to find someone to apprentice with and someone to use for my next birth if it happens in the next 4 years. Thanks all!

As far as I know, there are only hospital affiliated midwives here.

Are you kidding?! That is terrible. Ugh. I guess we'll be moving asap to another state.

There's a few (not very many) in ND, but they work very quietly out of necessity. The one in Moorhead retired last year (I was one of her students), but another one from MN bought her practice and she travels to parts of ND. I am hoping to start apprenticing again soon, but since the times when I am available aren't as great as I would like she would probably be interested in having another student on board depending on where you live. Just PM me if you want more info, and I'll tell you what I can. The midwife in MN I can give out info for no problem, but I would need to get permission before passing giving out info about anyone in ND.
I know there's at least one working quitely in Fargo. But I don't know who she is. I was concerned about being induced with an unstable lie (i.e. kept moving to breech) and asked an acupunturist friend, she called her homebirth midwife and transferred the info to me... so they were certainly keeping it quiet. I'm sure you could contact the said acupuncturist and ask for a referral (it shouldn't be hard to figure out who that acupuncturist is )

Contact ND Birth Chat on Yahoo groups. Several of the women that talk there have used a ND midwife who is willing to travel all over. They would check you out before the midwife would be willing to meet you, but that's the best way to reach the main ND midwife. Otherwise, there are some MN ones that are pretty accessible.
