I have a unique MW situations in that i see 2 different ones who are not a part of the same practice at all. The last appt I had was canceled by MW#2 because of a birth and rescheduled for the 13th. That means there will be like 6-7 weeks between appts. I really don't mind much, it is more what i want, but i have been watching things myself in the mean time.

So last night i did a belly measurement and i got 31 cm. I did it again an hour later and got 30.5. This morning it was still 30-ish. I am only 25.5 weeks though. I did measure a little ahead with DD, like 2-3 cm towards the end I think, but not this early on. At my last appt I was 20 weeks and measured about 21-22 cm. So I have grown like 8 cm in 5 weeks. Anyone else measuring ahead?

I measured 27 cm at 24 weeks, so I'm about 3 weeks ahead at last check. I was 19 cm at 18 weeks, so I think he may have had a growth spurt.

I measured 1 week ahead ever since they started measuring, but at my last appointment (25 weeks) I was measuring two weeks ahead. That is normal for me, so it is what I expected. It also made me feel lots better that I had gained 6 lbs that month- obviously the baby was having a growth spurt! In the last few weeks I have been known to measure 3-4 weeks ahead.

I always measure ahead even on ultrasound. This time it is more than normal but this is also my 5th so I figure my uterus is just well used so a little stretched out.

I measured 27cm at 25 weeks, but I am sure of my ovulation date, and not concerned. I guess the way the baby is lying can affect the measurement, so I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

My first 3 pn appts were with my mw's asst, and she never measured with a tape, she just felt of my uterus and said that I was right where I should be. My 4th pn appt was with the actual mw, and she measured me with the tape. I was 24 weeks, and she measured me at 28! She seemed more concerned than me (not that she was 'concerned' per se, though), remeasured and came up with 26. Hmmm...Anyway, I'm not too concerned. My doula said that is one of the differences between a CNM (which mw is) and a CPM (which her asst is working toward becoming)...CNM's tend to be more, um, analytical, if that's the right word.

I switched since that 4th appt to a different mw. She is a CPM, so it will be interesting to see how she measures me at our first appt (which is a week from Monday

ETA: I forgot to mention that I think it's common to measure a little ahead on second (third, fourth, etc) pregnancies, as your body has already been through it.

I always measure ahead, on ultrasounds as well as fundal height. Given the size of my last two kids, I'd actually be more worried if I was measuring normal or behind! (My other two kids were 10lb 8oz 23" and 11lb 4oz 23.5". I'm all of 5'1", so you can understand why I measure ahead!

I was mearsuring 30cm at 24 weeks. It concerned us enough to get my first ever ultrasound turns out the combination of a anterior placenta right at the top of my uterus and a breech baby (just one
) I'd never measured large before so we went ahead and got a US to avoid the mind games of is it twins or not.

I have no idea what I am measuring, but did measure big on ultrasound. The tech sized the baby at 26weeks, 6 days and I should have been 25 weeks, 6 days. She also estimated the baby's weight at 2lbs 5oz. Course they said ds was going to be huge too and he was born at 37 weeks 5 days weighing 7lbs 8oz.

I'm measuring a few weeks ahead and I've gained more weight than I "should" have (it's all in my belly and breasts, no gain anywhere else) so I think I'm having a big baby! My midwife isn't concerned, but she said I could cut way back on sugar and white carbs just to be safe. I was averaging 1 white carb a day (bialy or bagel with my eggs) and 2-3 sweet things (tea with honey once, juice once, ice cream at night) so I'm dropping all that.

I was measuring 33 weeks at week 25.... This is the first time I've ever measured so far ahead in a pregnancy but my midwife said it's not uncommon for the 4th baby. I'm a little scared I'll be measuring something like 52 weeks at the end of this... lol

visiting from Feb DDC: At last appointment I was measuring 28 at 25 wks. I am 5'2'' and am not surprised really. And yes, it is my first. I have gained about 23lbs- more than I would like and have a small torso. On friday, I find out my new measurment is from a different midwife. I am not putting much stock in the "big baby theory".

I'm measuring 28w at 26w and according to the u/s's he is measuring 10 days ahead as well so I guess that is right on. We did IVF and know EXACTLY how many weeks we are (down to the minute) so I guess he is just going to be a big boy!!

I was measuring ahead by 2 weeks at 21 weeks, and I'm sure when I go in next week I'll be measuring even further ahead. And at my 19 week u/s, baby measured 1-2 weeks ahead as well.

For those of you who measured ahead in past pregnancies, did you deliver before your due date? I'm just curious, because I fully expect to go past my due date, but baby is measuring so big!
