I've been measuring "ahead" --2cm/2weeks--for several months. I asked my midwife "what it meant" and she said "it is what it is" (which I am fine with, BTW). Just wondering if anyone is in a similar spot and if so, have you had different input? Curious!

BTW I'm in the middle of my 33rd week.

I go in for my appointments in the middle of my week and I typically measure 2 ahead (so a week and a half, lol). My OB isn't concerned, either, he just says that's how this baby measures.

In all my pregnancies I've always measured "right on." The funny thing is I've always had big babies (9#6 and 10#3)--you'd think I would have measured bigger. I'm right on again with this one too.

I've been measuring anywhere from 1-3 weeks ahead but MW said, and I've heard from other mom's that it means very little. A good friend measured like 6 weeks ahead for the last month or two and they did ultrasounds and such and determined she just had tons of fluid - she built a little swimming pool for her babe
he came out right about on time and was I think 7ish pounds.

I've always measured a little small - like one week behind, and now my belly has stopped getting bigger, so I'm measuring at 32 weeks at my last appointment which was 35 weeks. I'm being sent for a sonogram, so I'm a little worried - does anyone know what it means to measure small?

sorry for hijaking...

It shouldn't mean anything most of the time, but they're looking for a condition called Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) with the ultrasound, which can be serious if you really have it, but it is also sometimes misdiagnosed and babies are delivered prematurely as a result that didn't need to be, causing unnecessary problems. With only being 3 weeks behind in measurements, I wouldn't be too worried yet unless you continue not to get any bigger.

I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead, and have been for a couple months, I think. My MWs say that as long as it's consistent, then there's nothing to worry about.
I measured ahead with both of my previous pgs, too.
