Just curious, to know if symptoms are different than first pregnancy. I am on my third, with my first being a beautiful daughter who I went through TERRIBLE morning sickness starting at 5 weeks. Second son who had a birth defect and we lost him at 26 weeks but I also had TERRIBLE morning sickness again. Now on my third baby, NO morning sickness!!! Is that normal? I am getting worried, I dont want another miscarriage. I know that if you have morning sickness, your chances of having a miscarriage decreases. RIght?
Any thoughts? Pregnancies are all different?

I am also on my third pregnancy and have found (so far) them each to be different. With dd I was so sick, with ds I was very tired. Eventhough it is early I do feel better so far with this pregnancy than with the other two. That does make me nervous just because I feel like I'm supposed to be sick for it to feel real. But...my diet is better now than what it was with the other two and I am used to being more active running after little ones. Maybe that is the difference?

I'm on my 4th pregnancy, so I can give you my experiences...
DD #1 - very little m/s, sore bbs, little fatigue. We didn't even find out I was pregnant until 9 weeks, so I had few symptoms other then missing AF.

Preg. #2 (m/c at 11 weeks) - moderate symptoms, more m/s then with DD #1, sore bbs, aversion to coffee (huge, since I'm a serious coffee addict! ), moderate fatigue. Symptoms all but disappeared around 11 weeks (found out about m/c at 12 week appointment)

DD #2 - moderate symptoms, moderate m/s (never threw up, but constantly nauseous), very sore bbs, very fatigued, aversion to coffee, symptoms tapered off around 13-14 weeks

This pregnancy - symptoms have been very mild to this point. Some nausea, which is increasing, definite increase in fatigue (but I also have a 4 year old and 21 month old to chase around!), bbs are getting more sore, no aversion to coffee...

I'm trying to be optomistic that each pregnancy is different. And that the big difference in symptoms this time is indicating a boy! How far along are you in this pregnancy? I can only imagine how scary it is for you, following the loss of your son. I've definitely had friends with dramatically different pregnancies that have been successful, so hopefully, that is the case for you!

I'm on pregnancy #4 right now.

With DD#1 I remember throwing up a lot. My boobs were so tender in the beginning and got a lot bigger. I was a little tired. I also had a HUGE aversion to chinese food. (Which I loved.) I couldn't even be in the same room as it. I also got leg cramps from time to time further in the pregnancy. My main craving was for mashed potatos and gravy. I did have moments of feeling emotional but they were few and far between. I remember also having weird dreams. And a little trouble sleeping.

With DD#2 I was nauseas off and on, but only threw up once or twice. I do remember being tired. Again I had a HUGE aversion to chinese food. My boobs were tender but not like they had been with #1. I did get the leg cramps again. I was a lot more irritable than I was with #1. I don't remember having really any irritablility with my first. I had the weird dreams and a little trouble sleeping again though.

With pg #3 (blighted ovum discovered at 3 months or so.) I was non stop nauseas. and that was really it. I actually was losing weight even though I was eating regularly.

This time I have had the cramping off and on and slightly tender boobs. They've gotten a little fuller. I have lost a little weight, but I am also trying to eat healthier foods than I was before I found out I was pg. I was informed this morning that I have a uti which I have never had before. I've been nauseas off and on all day and night everyday for a few weeks now. (I'm 7 weeks along.) I've been getting sudden random cravings, which I didn't with past pgs. Ex: today I was at DD#1's t-ball practice and saw a little boy eating pop tarts and kind of wished I had one. I've been very tired and have actually started taking naps whenever I can. So far the only aversion I have is to sweet bbq sauce. I've also been more emotional this time around. I've also had weird dreams pretty much every night and I have a horrid time trying to sleep.

I'm going in for a dating u/s tomorrow, by my request. I mean I have symptoms and everything but my m/c was a very tough one for me to deal with and so I'm really paranoid and just want to make sure there really is a baby growing in there. So I understand how you feel.

sending you good thoughts, that all is well!!

I had horrible morning sickness (for 7 months) with my DD. I don't remember when it started though - but it was early, before 6 weeks.

This pregnancy I feel fine. I am not tired (in fact I have taken on EXTRA cleaning projects around the house). I am not nauseated. My nipples kill but only when I nurse DD. My boobs aren't sore. I am just 5 weeks today.

It worries me too.

I had a WONDERFUL pregnancy w/ 1st, no m/s, no fatigue, In fact I was at the gym the week I gave birth to her running the eliptical and lifting weights and I also took a spinning (cycling) class twice a week up until a couple weeks before her birth

This pregnancy is a whole diffrent story. I'm nauseous almost all day. VERY tired all the time and NO energy what so ever It's so hard because I have a toddler running around EVERYWHERE and I so want to run and play with her,I just don't have the energy

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. I think I might go ahead and request a u/s just so that I can be at ease. I am trying to pray and trust God. But it is hard sometimes, especially when I would cramp and I think, oh no a miscarraige! And then it would go away or it would happen to be me constipated! But it is encouraging to know that every pregnancy is different. And being at six weeks I should consider it a blessing that I do not have morning sickness...yet... So we shall see!

Oh, that part is so hard!! I remember being on pins and needles for most of my 3rd pregnancy, after my m/c. Its so hard, following a loss, and I can only imagine how difficult this time is for you. Hang in there, use your care provider to help assure you, and don't be afraid to ask questions!!

I feel the same as I did the first pregnancy, except this time the symptoms started sooner (at 5-6 weeks instead of 8 weeks). But I feel I have every symptom this time around. Constant nausea, sore bbs, fatigue, headaches, aversions to all kinds of foods (mainly smells). I'm only in my 7th week.

I agree with the "every pg feels different" sentiment. I'm on my 4th & so far I'm totally weirded out how UNlike my other pregnancies this one is already! I blame it on the fact this is the 1st time I've been pg while breastfeeding. I have very few symptoms besides extreme sleepiness. I had nearly no symptoms my entire 1st pregnancy, then my 2nd was the worst- vomiting, bleeding, not fun. My 3rd- definitely tons of symptoms, but no vomiting..... they've all been so different! I've kept detailed journals so I know I'm not just remembering incorrectly.

First pregnancy, my boobs hurt a lot, some small food aversions, especially to cooking meat, no real morning sickness, slight passing nausia.

This pregnancy (2nd) basically the same, my boobs don't hurt (must remember bfing the other one), no real nausia, threw up a few times after coughing fits (I have an awful cold).

No real differences I guess. I hope it is another girl!

1st pregnancy, i felt fine. I was slightly tired, but that is it.
2nd pregnancy, nothing at all, hadnt the slightest clue I was PG, was blighted ovum ended at 10 weeks, measured 6 weeks.
3rd pregnancy, AWFUL m/s, lost 25 lbs in 10 weeks, i was exhausted. Sore boobs, cranky. And later on UTI problems.
4th pg, no m/s, but very tired, and constant sinus issues and bloody nose, had horrible cramping and SPD. cravings ( i went out in a blizzard to get green olives and onion dip ) i was SO moody and crabby. Cried at the drop of a hat.
5th pg, m/s again, VERY bad, I could have sworn it was a girl because i only had m/s with my DD, but nope! was a boy! i was a worthless blob on the couch until 13 weeks when it all magically disappeared. Had awful metallic taste in my mouth until about 6 months along. was exhausted all the time. The end of the pregnancy was bliss though, didnt have a care in the world. felt great.
6th PG, (this one) horrible nausea, exaggerated gag reflex, tired, boobs HURT! occasional cramping, MASSIVE cravings, and just recently, peeing all the time! Oh, and strange symptom, VERY noise sensetive. My kids do taekwondo, and have twice a week for the last year, and lately has been UNBEARABLE. I cant stand the noise. I have had to have DH take them.

different pregnancies every time, I wonder what this one will bring!

Mine were

#1 a little m/s, extreme exhaustion(I could sleep for 18-20 hours each day), sore bbs.
#2 m/s until 22 weeks then again starting at 30 weeks until the day I delivered.
#3 nothing, I had a misscarriage.
#4 see #1
#5(this one) nothing. I'm a little freaked out, I thought I should at least have something by now, I'm guessing I'm 8 weeks.
