I'm looking for an actual dvd that I can keep in my doula library to loan out to my clients and I came across this one (it's also on Amazon.com but for double the price). It's supposed to go over all 3 different types of circ procedures and you can see a one minute clip of it on the website. The actual dvd is 19 minutes long.

http://davidgarrigus.com/davidgarrig...cumcision.html

Anyone seen any other actual dvds that they liked and that I can order?

I once read a review of this Garrigus video on amazon.com, I think, by a childbirth educator who said it does not show the babies' faces, and there is soft music playing in the background, which she objected to. The library journal review on the site says "No attempt is made to indicate the advantages of one procedure over another or to discuss the issue of whether to circumcise or not."

There are lots of circ videos on line which you can download. Also The Iternational Coalition for Genital Integrity has been offering a free DVD for childbirth professionals with a 5 minute excerpt of a circumcision taken from the movie "Birth As We KNow It", plus the 20 minute DOC "The Prepuce" video, and several other interesting excerpts including the NOCIRC pUblic Service Announcement. The email for requesting a copy of this DVD used to be: [email protected]

Ok, that doesn't sound good. Soft music playing!?!? I couldn't tell much from the one minute clip. They have it for sale on Amazon.com but there weren't any reviews on it there.

Has anyone seen the "Whose body, whose rights?" dvd. I think it's called that.

I'll go check out the International Coalition website.

Whose Body Whose Rights is a 1 hour long video, previously shown on PBS. It covers just about every aspect of the circumcision debate, including activism, men's feelings, restoration, besides history, medical aspects, foreskin function and the procedure. Has interviews with a lot of intactivist luminaries. As good as it is, a lot of it wouldn't be relevant to a class of expectant parents, besides it being so long.

There is an 18 min edited segment of WBWR called "Circumcision? Intact Facts" which has the history, medical, function, procedure parts only, made with childbirth classes in mind, not perfect, but stands alone pretty well. It is made by www.InJoyVideos.com, although I cannot find it listed on their site currently. I'd email them and ask if it's still available. It used to be $49.95.

The dvd wouldn't be for a childbirth class-- I would just have it in my library to loan out to my doula clients (and my friends) to watch at home on their own time.

Thank you so much everyone for all your advice. I went back on Amazon and actually found the David Garrigus circumcision VHS tape which had 14 reviews-- all of which were pretty negative. I'm so glad I didn't order it. Here's the link to all the reviews if anyone is interested:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cus...ustomerReviews

I also contacted the International Coalition website and was able to submit my info to receive the free dvd that they give out to health care professionals. I should get it in 4-6 weeks and I'll make sure to post back with my review. I think it's about 30 minutes long.

I also was able to find the "Intact Facts" dvd that Gillian mentioned and will probably order that one as well. It's no longer on the InJoy website, but I was able to find it on several other sites.

Thanks again everyone. I'm excited to finally have some good info to share with my doula clients. Fortunately, all my recent clients had already made the decision to keep their boys intact before even meeting me! WooHoo! The last 6 families I've worked with that had baby boys ALL left their boys intact!
