I'm starving. I wake up starving and when I eat, I'm still starving. MS has not hit me yet, but I expect it in a few days.

The reason I ask is because my last pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and that was my first and biggest symptom. I don't remember being hungry with any other pregnancy and I've had 4 others. The twin pregnancy only got to just under 7 weeks and that was back in early March. I also have loose bowels, which I had with the twins pregnancy, but normally, I'm constipated in the beginning.

I want to know if hunger (and maybe loose bowels) are normal for other women having singletons. I'm a little worried/hopeful/confused about the possibility of twins. I will be fine either way, but I want to talk and compare with other mothers at this stage. I can't really feel my uterus yet, so I don't know if it's big. It's tipped, so I wouldn't feel it early in any case.

Are you starving? Do you have loose bowels or constipation?

Thanks in advance
:i was STARVING all the time by then, too. and i've had an ultrasound, so unless there was an extra sprout hiding in there somewhere, i'm pretty sure i'm not having twins.
as far as loose bowels, i cant help ya there- i've mostly just been normal or slightly constipated.

I'm starving mostly (except during occ. bouts of nausea when food seems gross), but I'm still nursing my dd so that probably contributes to my hunger. I'm also about 5 1/2 weeks. And... I've totally had the loose bowels issue too! So weird cause I was way constipated with my dd. I've considered that this could be twins too though I guess I don't have any great reason for thinking so. What do you think is up with the loose bowels thing though? It's very unpleasant to say the least....

I've had some days where I'm super hungry and others where I'm not. Usually the super hungry days are also the nausea days - go figure. I also have loose bowels, I don't think I've had a solid poop since I found out I was pregnant . This is my first so I have no frame of reference - although I hope there is just one in there!

I don't remember being starving w/ the others, but I am now! Well, I am, but since the ms kicked in I've tried to curb the eating since I'm on meds that have to be taken before I eat and only every 4 hrs etc. I had the twin thought too since I've been so sick so early, but I guess only time will tell. lol

Thanks for the replies. Actually, the morning sickness (for that one week) wasn't as bad as I remember with the other pregnancies as long as I ate protien in the morning. The fatigue was unreal though and I have some major fatigue right now. I'm going to the midwife at 9 weeks and I'll have her listen for 2. I'm going to avoid getting an ultrasound until 12weeks I think.

I also had a twin pregnancy prior to this (my girls are almost 3 now) but I NEVER remember feeling this way before. I am starving almost constantly, especially right after I eat..and in between the nausea that set in today, and I too am having loose bowels. Not completely diahrrhea but not "regular" if you know what I mean. I will be constipated for a few days and then have a "loose" one. TMI sorry. I am 95% positive this is a singleton pregnancy since I did a US the other day at work and *think* I only saw one baby but it is a crappy little ER machine so who knows. We will find out for sure on Tuesday. I hope you have the outcome you want!!

I'm totally STARVING, then I eat eat eat and then I'm super sick. And I keep doing it over and over again. I just can't learn my lesson.

I had extremely loose bowels with my son and its happening all over again but with horrific gas pain. Hormones really mess with your system!!!

BIG bowl of yogurt with strawberries and LOTS of granlola;
Two granola bars;
String cheese;
Applesauce; and
Broccoli left over from dinner last night.

And I'm about to go microwave a roastbeef & provolone sandwich. :

I'm 11w5d. I hope it doesn't get any worse, or Huz will have to get a second job just to feed me.

My hunger has slowed down some. I've slept through the night (with one pee trip) for about 3 nights without waking up hungry. I do get panicked when I get hungry though because I feel like I can't help myself at that point. I have to either grab something that is already prepared and lie down to eat it or have someone else give me something to eat. It takes about 30 minutes to recover from having been hungry. I'm going to have to start testing my blood soon I guess. I'm always borderline diabetic when pregnant. I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow.

I have been far more hungry this pregnancy than I was with any of my other pregnancies. I don't know why. It's just one baby in there. I didn't start getting that way until closer to the 8 week mark, though It's starting to slow down a little.

well, I spoke too soon. I woke up at 2:30 am this morning starving and had to get up to eat. This is crazy. I haven't stopped eating all day today either. :

I guess I'm kind of starting to think that there might be more than one in there. I scheduled my first ultrasound in 2 weeks. I'll be a nervous wreck until then wondering.
