I've about had it with eBay.... Today I got a really nasty email threatening a negative, and we all know how bad a neg can be one of my accounts was suspended for "too many negs"
3 out of 1700 in a month.
:

What are you guys doing? I've tried shipping internationally with Express, so I have the tracking. That doesn't matter, I get nasty mail from people that I am "gouging" on shipping. Or when they have to pay taxes somehow thats my fault then leave negs.

*sigh* I'm thinking of dropping ebay altogether, amazon is doing about 400x the sales anyways.

I have two IDs, one for new stuff, one for used stuff. Out of 8+ years on ebay, the new item ID has one negative (buyer wanted to haggle after bidding too high).

Meanwhile, 8 years on the other one leaves me with I think 5 negs, 6 neuts. I get a lot of "I think I see a stain so I want X amount of money refunded while I keep the items. Oh, and I don't have a camera so I can't take a picture of this magical stain."

Recently, a lady who won a sweater from me contacted me after receiving it. She said it had a hole "big enough to put your hand through." She filed a paypal dispute so I had to take it back. I can't say I was surprised to receive a shredded sweater from her. She basically cut the whole front of the sweater with scissors, probably when she opened the package.

But I'm still on here. It gets me a little $$ to add to the budget and maybe I'm a masochist....I do enjoy it lol.

For international, I always send a shipping notification and I include the customs number. For the average joe schmoe who wants a buck, I think it keeps them from filing a fake SNAD. They don't know all the rules so it seems official.

Bumping to see if there are any more comments. I was ticked because Itriedto list some things for christmas, and ebay wouldn't let me. I have only one negative comment from last year, and it was because I left a negative for them (I bought a big ice skating rink, advertised new, when I got it, the box was all busted up, it was obviously set up before, and a couple of the plastic pieces were broke. Plus, it took them 3 weeks to ship even though I paid priority, which was a fortune to get it by christmas).

anyway, between raising their fees and now this crap, I am discouraged. I don't have big items to sell, stuff that would sell on craigslist or newspaper. Most of my stuff is little stuff or specialty stuff (like ice skating competition gear).

I really need to make some extra money this money, 3 of my clients haven't paid and my taxes are due (they are 2500!).

Just wanted to see how others are doing on ebay.

Our stuff on ebay wasn't moving like it was before. We've been lucky not to have any negative feedback but we mostly use it to sell items customers have returned because they changed their mind so we have a small amount of feedback.

My husband wants to move everything over to Amazon too. I'm going to give ebay another shot this month before completely giving up on it.

we have all but entirely moved to amazon. The only thing that we find Ebay useful for is complete junk that we just need to get out of the store (like 128 &512 mb memory cards, who wants those!)

Its a lot less stressful now that I'm not fooling myself that I can run a sucessful store on eBay!
