Just wondered. I have decided to, after some serious thought, go ahead and take it and continue nursing my 10 month old ds. I was wondering if anyone was else was taking it. Have you noticed any change in your lo? How much are you taking and at what times? Are you taking the extended release or normal?

Hi. I'm not breastfeeding (well EP'ing) anymore, but when I was I took Zoloft. Wellbutrin is what I normally take and it works well, but according to studies Zoloft passes the least through your breastmilk. I switched to Zoloft and was fine. Kellymom has articles on this very issue and I copied them and gave them to my psych. She was very accomodating.(sp)

Zoloft is the "best drug choice so far". It has a low, low transfer rate to breastmilk (17-173 ug/liter) in mothers taking up to 150 mg/day. In one excellent study of 11 mother/infant pairs, the zoloft was undetectable in 7 of the 11 breastfeeding infants' serum and minimal in the other infants. In two other studies of one and three mother/infant pairs respectively, zoloft was undetectable in the plasma of all 4 infants. A theoretical concern with Zoloft is that some babies may not gain weight as rapidly or as well when breastfed by moms on Zoloft; so weight gain should be monitored and dosage tweaked as necessary.

FWIW we never had any sort of weight gain problems. I was able to feed DS on pumped milk alone, no supplements. Hope this helps.
