I recently got a computer called Lady-Comp that is clinicaly proven as safe as the pill (documented) for birth control. Does anyone on here use it? I think its pretty nice...Would enjoy hearing from others who use it!!

I also chart with TCOYF software, with the temps Lady-comp gives me.

A good friend of mine has used a Ladycomp for about 6 years? Maybe more? She has successfully avoided pregnancy the whole time and the Ladycomp is the only thing she uses. I've tried to get her interested in FAM, but she's quite satisfied having the computer figure it all out for her. I guess if it was working that well for me too I wouldn't take the time to learn to do it all myself either!

Thats great about the Lady comp working so well, but I also Like to chart, Im addicted to charting. The ovusoft message boards are great to dicuss cycles and charts. I like to know whats going on in my body, and I also like the assurance of Lady comp to back my chart on when the right days to have relations with or with out protection.

I think more women would use this wonderful tool (Lady comp) if there was more publicity and word was out more. My doctor had never even heard of it before. She said price of Lady Comp and other stuff is about the same. Condoms and FAM would be cheaper, but this way Im more sure about avoiding pregnancy!!

Yes here is the site I bought mine from~

Naturalmethods.com

I think these things are pretty awesome especially with their proven track record. THe natural methods website has testemonials from ladies who use them and you can contact some of the testemonials!!

I've read that if you dont have s*x on a red day, you wont get pregnant. It has lights that it gives you every morning when taking your temp with Lady comp. IT gives you green for GO (its ok for relations) red for STOP (do not have relations) and yellow for Caution or learning. YOu can use condoms on red or yellow days, but If you dont want to get pregnant, be very careful even using barriers!! We use barriers on red and yellow days. Green days are fun for DH, no more condoms on those days!!

I love, love, love my Ladycomp! I started using it about 6 months ago because I needed natural BC, but didn't have the time/energy/diligence to learn how and continue to chart properly. So far I it has worked wonderfully, we use barrier methods on red days (we're newlyweds ). I now chart the temps I get on Ladycomp on fertility friend just to see the actual charts, but I find that LC is much better at prediciting ovulation and periods. I learned about LC from this thread on another forum.

http://www.aphroditewomenshealth.com...page=0&fpart=6

Most women on that thread have been using it for serveral months, some years with success.I am down to about 6 red days a month, which means LC has my cycle pretty down pat.I ordered from natural methods also using their payment plan.
PM me for more info.

Wow--is this too good to be true? It looks awesome! I also lack the diligence to chart, so I should run this by dh!

I so wanted one! However, the price tag was too high for DH. I was able to get an IUD for a whopping $15. I couldn't convince him to spend the $ on the Lady Comp when I could have the IUD for $15. Too bad.

We did use Persona for the first two years we were together before we had a baby. Loved it and so did DH. He loved "green" days. I haven't been able to use the Persona since having my first ds because it's not as reliable while nursing and I've been nursing for 6 years. That's where the Lady Comp would be better than the Persona.....during nursing. That and not having to buy the pee sticks each month.

Does anyone have any experience with these items? Are they worth the $?

A little history about me:
Used the sympto-thermal method of NFP successfully for 5 years. Two planned pregnancies: one miscarriage ;( and then dd#1, one unplanned pregnancy which resulted in my beautiful dd #2. DDs are 17 months apart.

The reason #2 was unplanned was because it took us 8 months to conceive after my miscarriage, so we figured it would take awhile the 3rd time, too! I knew I was fertile but we went for it anyway. Surprise! Anyway, while I am SOOOOO happy with my girls, I really want to wait a couple years before ttc again. I could really use something "brainless."

Also, dd#2 is only 11 w/o. Does anyone know if these are reliable postpartum?

The cool thing about Lady comp is it will tell you if your pregnant, or probably pregnant. The Baby COMp will tell you of a probable pregnancy within DAYS of conception (Like 4 or so I think!!) Now thats incredible that a little computer can do that!

Why wouldnt Lady comp be reliable with the 99.3% protection against pregnancy? As long as your having periods, you can use it> I have irregular periods, and trying to get my hormones balanced and I use Lady comp for birth control!! Im sorry, I just cant put artificial hormones like IUD birth control pills like that in my body. I have never used artificial hormones at all and Im still having hormonal problems. I cant imagine what would happen if I used them..It would be disaster! Everyone has to decide whats best for them, and that was my decision!

The link above with the Lady comp forum is helpful. I joined and there we ladies talk about our Lady comps every day . Join in the conversation!!

Not available over here but might be an improvement on charting with the persona.
Pesonally I use the IUD. It's in, it works and it's thought-free, if you know what I mean.
No temperature, maths, charts or remembering to take it and no risks of anything unplanned.

Well at naturalmethods.com it's 11 payments of $37.50, and at the site you quoted, it's 12 payments of $37.50 which is $450 versus the $495 for paying all at once. It's confusing. lol

As long as you have functioning organs and are having sex, there's always some risk of "something unplanned"

You could call Natural Methods and ask them, because they have a toll free number... 1-866-USE-LADY. That is confusing. Are you thinking about getting one? If you are interested the Lady comp forum link mentioned above would be a good place to lurk/or join !! I just joined and it has been helpful for me already and Ive been using Lady comp for 1 1/2 months+

Yeah, my husband is completely on board with it and wants me to order it RIGHTTHISSECOND. But I want to call and ask why the installment plan is cheaper. lol

I should check out the link, but it's blocked here at work ("sexually explicit", whatever), so it'll have to wait until I get home. lol

How long does it take before it will give you definitive answers (not yellow)? A month?
